I just received my new Ap1 712 Irons from the Golftown Woodbridge store. I was fitted by the Titleist rep which was fun and informative. I am in sales and I can tell you this rep is good. He tells me as well to look out for the NXT Tour golf balls to match my swing and said these are long. I will need to try those as well.
I was under the impression that you had to be a really good golfer ( I am an average golfer with a 16 handicap) to play with Titleist equipment. As well in my mind Titleist was what a lot of Pro's play. Possibly not a club that would work for me, wrong the AP1 712"s are a great iron for a higher handicapper like myself. So over a few months I kept hitting them.
I kept trying to find equipment that also looked good at address for me and that I could hit well. As an avid golfer I also read golf magazines which kept saying the Titleist AP1's are a game improvement iron for the average golfer and thought I will try them out. I kept hitting them at Golftown and was about average in my view on the clubs.
I was committed to getting a nice set of new irons so finally decided I will buy the AP1 712's. I was not prepared for for how good they looked when I picked them up, as well as how good they felt when I hit them at a local driving range yesterday.
These irons are the most beautiful clubs that I have owned and I have owned 6 other sets over the past 12 years. They felt fantastic even coming off mishits. I matched the AP1's with a Nippon NS Pro 970 shaft which feels very smooth through the swing and when hitting the ball. I am looking forward to the start of the season and I hope I can drop a few strokes this year. Cheers everyone, go Titleist.
