I'm heading to Atlanta in 2 weeks for Spring Break and I'm hoping to get a couple rounds in while I'm there as a warm up for when the weather turns up here. Just wondering if anyone has played any courses in the Atlanta area that might be worth checking out. I'll be in the north end of the city in Sandy Springs. Thanks

I am one of those that loves to take the opportunity to play where the pros play whenever I get the opportunity and I am in the area.
I was there around Easter many years back, and played at Sugar Loaf. It was a great lay-out.
I recall my friend and I were waiting to tee off on a par three that was a small peninsula out into a lake when the chap on the edge of the green waved us on. When we got down to the green the gentleman told me that if I made my putt for birdie he had a gift for me. At that time my putting was not something to brag about so I told him I would be lucky to make my par :) He accepted that and when I made my par he ushered me to the edge of the green and picked up a fishing rod and told me to reel in the fish. Yup - I reeled in a nice little bass and we released it. He asked if he could join us for a while and of course we said yes. Turns out he was a retired pro who had played on the senior tour many moons ago who lived along side the course. He spent his days on the course playing golf until he made a bogey then he would fish until he caught a fish and then continue and play again until he made another bogey. What a great way to spend your day !
You meet the most interesting people on the course when you go out and are not part of your own foursome !!!

I've never had quite an experience like that but I have met some really great people. I usually play as a single on holiday so I get paired up a lot. It's fun playing with the locals.
