That's a loaded question, given that everyone's swing is a bit different and each ball type has it's own unique characteristics. It's all about matching up the characteristics that make the most sense for what you are trying to maximize in your game. Trial and error by testing on the course and then making your own selection. Good luck and hope you lock on to the one that works best for you.

I love love the distance off the driver i am getting with the Left dash and its a pretty good all around ball....but i need low spin everywhere except 50 yards and in.....i hope the prov1 is the overall answer but TBH, i have seen nothing that matches the left dash off the tee
  3. I’ve found the 2021 x to be the best compromise. Can’t say it’s any shorter than the left dash and def more playable inside 50 yards
  4. How does the X feel? is it "harsh" or clicky?
  5. Clicky is the best description off the driver. Medium/ firm off the irons and fairy soft with short game clubs.

Sure would be nice to be able to 'demo' balls like we can do clubs...

Club demo requires some investment on the part of Titleist but those demo clubs get used over and over. It would be pretty difficult to "check out" a demo ball and return it at the end of the day. Luckily, most courses and some retailers will allow you to purchase a single sleeve. That will allow you to demo them at the minimal investment on your part. Titleist also sends out "test balls" to a limited population before public release to get feedback while tweaking the final releases.

Sign up for a virtual ball fitting and you will receive a couple of 2 ball sample packs after the fitting.

Thanks for this Tyler. I brought up the notion of demoing balls (which I understand would be difficult) because I read a thread on here that suggested trying to play the Left Dash. I did end up buying a sleeve at my club for $12.50 and found them to be too hard for my liking. I played them for 3 holes and did not like the feel around the green.

When I do play Titleist balls it is the Pro V1X.

When you're hitting your 50 and in shot, what's your setup and swing like? Even while doing a 20 yard chip, I can get the left dash to bite with a low spinner. You could also try opening the club face to get the ball in the air if you aren't doing that, you'll swing faster to get the same distance while giving the grooves the speed to bite a bit more.

Performance is truly personal as they say. I tried the AVX because I liked its distance and reduced spin off the driver, having been a long time Pro V1x player. Ultimately, I switched back because I didn't like how much it rolled out on short shots around the green or how far it would pitch forward if hitting mid to long irons into the greens.

For me, I feel like the Left Dash corrected those "sins" while giving me the higher ball flight I preferred and the lower spin off the driver, so best of both worlds. AVX is a fantastic ball, though still.
  12. I just played the AVX in my match play leage this past week and im on the fence with it because it wasnt really "longer" for me than the prov1 and it was definitely shorter than the left dash......it felt good but im not sure im in love with it. Gonna keep testing though as ive traied all the new balls except the prov1x.....so far the prov1 is the best of the bunch when you combine all aspects..... the left dash just flies off the driver though.....its almost intoxicating :)

I’m a huge fan of the Pro V1.. longer off the Driver and best response off the irons and around the greens than ProV1x or AVX Ball. Not tried the left dash ball as yet, not sure it’s right for my slower swing speed(88-90mph w/ Driver, & 7 Iron Ball speed 110mph) as a Senior golfer @ 74yrs of age. May try a Sleeve of the Left Dash, just to see how & if it works for us senior players, we need all the help we can get.
  14. unless you can compress that ball, not sure it will fly far for you. Its basically 102 compression ball which is extra firm. I know compression doesnt really matter with todays technology but i just used this as a reference point to tell you how firm the ball feels off all your clubs.....its very firm

The Prov1 on the contrast is 90 compression and feel great. AVX almost feels too soft for me and the spin #'s are not as low as i hoped off the driver.
  15. I am a senior golfer Pro V needs swing speed beyond my talent. Just tried the Titleist Tour Speed instead of the Velocity. Tour Speed traveled as far as Velocity and seem to stop quicker on the greens. I will use Velocity as they cost 1$ per ball less than Tour Speed
  16. If anayone can get their hands on some left dot's, that is the magic ball.......the fell and explosiveness are off the charts....we need this ball at retail

Yes it is....have three sleeves Porv1 left dots in my inventory in my golf cave, deep in the hills of the lowcountry of S Carolina. Guarded by the Cadets at the Citadel and one vicious angry dachshund. They holey grail.

  19. I agree Tim. It would be great to have the left dot at retail. I really like the AVX and have played it almost exclusively for the second and third generations. It suits my game the best out of the premium lineup. The differences are that I hit the left dash slightly longer off the tee and get a little less greenside spin than with the proV1. I think the left dot is the best combo of everything

I'm kicking myself. Someone came into my Pro Shop (where I work) and asked if we carried the Left Dash? I told them we did not. He was not the first to ask and be told the same thing by me. Well, evidently I was wrong. A few minutes later I hear a gasp from that same customer who yells, "Yes, you do have Left Dashes!" He grabbed 4 sleeves and said he'd purchase more if I had them. We looked, but there were no more on display.

I, nor anyone else who works there, realized we had some in amongst the regular Pro V1x display. We did not specifically order them, but somehow they ended up in our order. The other guys in the shop had no idea they were different, but I, being a Titleist junkie, was fully aware of their special characteristics. Since the packaging looks virtually the same as the regular x packaging, and as far as I knew, we didn't order them, I never noticed we had any to sell. Evidently, the guy who received them and entered them into inventory, didn't want to be bothered to create a new item just for a few Left Dash dozen, so just added them to the regular Pro V1x inventory, since they were the same price.

Had I known we had them, I'd have purchased every dozen we had in inventory. Don't know if they fit my game, but if not, I would certainly have no problems trading them with one of these Left-Dash-hungry players who can't get their hands on them otherwise. Might make a few extra bucks on the deal. ;-)
  21. I played the left dash since it was available. Had a Titleist ball fitting at our club last fall. He recommended the ProV1x. I hit driver further with left dash, but I got better results with all my irons with the ProV1x. The thought was I’m not giving up a lot of distance with driver but I’ll hit it closer and have better looks for birdie with the ProV1x. Now I’ll go back and forth depending on conditions.
