I was playing my local course the other day and stumbled across no one, but two Matte Green Titleist VG3s. After doing some research it turns out they are available in the Japanese market. It was just strange to find them at my local course in rural Ohio!

They pop up along the coast of SC every now and then. Have seen them in bins of balls and think last time I might have seen them here in Charleston was at a Edwin Watts. Sure you can find them in the special bins up in Myrtle Beach, the number one golf destination. Have not seen them in colors, only white. Overruns find their way to markets that can move them.

Added: VG3 is a premium distance model exclusive for the Japanese market, featuring a Super lower Spin Fleximer Cover and Soft Center Multi-Component construction, the Titleist VG3 delivers low spin off the driver and irons for long, straight and consistent distance on all shots.

VG3 golf balls sold in the U.S. contain a "slight cosmetic blemish" and "did not pass the incredibly high inspection standards" for this premium product. They come in white, matte yellow, green, and red. The ones I saw were not packaged but individual balls in a bin.

** These can also can purchased on lostballs.com.....ranging from $12.99 up per dozen.....
  4. One of the interesting things with playing such a random ball. I'd bet the balls you found were mine. I was in Ohio a few days before then with some freinds, playing 5 rounds in 3 days. Few balls found their way away from fairways with that much golf. Which course was it?
