  1. I heard a rumor from my club that they are going to discontinue AVX balls. Did anybody hear this too?

Doubtful. Rarely does a manufacture spend time and money during R&D only to discontinue the ball 2 years later. From what i can tell, it’s a fairly popular ball outside the Tour.

Agree with the above. Besides, they just came out with the new Pro V1/V1X and the left dot. It would probably be that they are doing the same with the AVX and some of the other ones this year. Maybe????

Interesting question. AVX and Tour Speed are “off cycle” with either the urethane (Pro-V) or non-urethane balls, so maybe some clarification will come with the non-urethane release in February. AVX, Tour Speed, and Tour Soft target much the same market. Velocity and TruFeel are separate niches and price points.
I’d expect when including the color options that not all three will be around. If you have a favorite among those 3, you may want to stock a couple extra. Titleist won’t say what will happen until the fat lady sings.

It would be just my luck. After experimenting for a couple of years, I have finally settled on the AVX. I hope ir hangs around.

I spoke with an associate at the PGA Superstore in Jacksonville yesterday and was told the there will be a new AVX ball in 2022! It will have the same soft feel and flight characteristics as the 2020 ball, but will have more greenside spin. If true, I am fired up!!

If so, most likely will be announced around the time of the PGA Merchandise show.

Titleist making a great ball even better I hope.It is my ball of choice now.
  9. Just coming off a niffty 71 today. Ball used: AVX. My lowest round this year was also when I used the AVX. In between, I have used ProV1s, ProV1xs, and ProV1xs left dash. For some reason I was thinking that the ProV1s were longer, but you can't argue with success.

Good to hear. I still feel they should change the name based on the premium price. It should be part of the Pro V family.

With respect, it Is part of the part of the Pro V family. A V X stands for: "A"lternate to the Pro"V"1 and Prov1"X".

I doubt that. Its a huge seller. Low spin and low trajectory. Who would not want it. When our greens are fast and hard I switch back to the PRO V1 to get a bit more spin and stoppage on the greens. I love being able to have the benefit of the AVX when the course conditions allow and then switch it out when it does not. AVX's are gonna be around a long time imo.
  14. There is a "Test" 2022 AVX ball out for testing for about 1 week so far. The note with them stated taht a 2022 AVX was on the way after the test. The rumor got garbled.
