Recently, I have been noticing more and more that other companies are coming out with multitude of designs, Triple Red/White/Blue lines, half yellow half red, soccer ball, triangle black and orange all over the ball. Super bright colors.

I really prefer what Titleist offers, White, Optic yellow (for old people like me), some few other colors to enhance spotting the ball in deep rough.

The line on the ball can be darkened by me if I want to or adding a longer line. These extra attributes doesn't really help me seeing the ball track well if I hit it on the sweet spot while putting. Does it help you all?

People react to various visual cues for alignment (or none at all), depth perception, etc. I like a single line, and am actually experimenting with a row of dots.... while others i know really like the triple track for putting. My dad only has vision in one eye, so the yellow "soccer ball" is much easier for him to see and helps him gauge depth perception at address. Others like to colored balls because it's simply easier to distinguish from the other player's balls in their group. As they say, "different strokes for different folks".

It's a gimmick. It's their way of telling you they have no new or improved technology. I prefer not to use any ball alignment marks so I set it up with as much blank white (or yellow) showing as I can, and just try to hit it square.

I agree with Brock. New attributes on balls certainly help some folks. If people weren't buying balls with these attributes, then manufacturers wouldn't be marketing them.
A case in point, I've always played a white Titleist, but I've as my eyesight deteriorates (extreme nearsightedness) I've had to change to an optic yellow ball. I still putt with no logos or lines facing up, but now I look at a yellow ball instead of white.

Guess that I am different from everyone else out there. I use the line on my putter and putt the ball to a point towards the hole. Line it up using the old fashioned plum bobbing. Has been good to me for years. Putting is all about what works. Gimmicks work for some. I like white Prov1s and my Scotty Newport 2. .

There is a number of golfers who will try a dozen of anything or buy them as gifts. That will make it profitable enough for these companies to produce them. If Titleist didn't think that it was worth their while, they wouldn't make Shamrock Balls every St. Patrick's Day.

White Pro V1, I don't use the alignment arrow for anything nor do I enhance it to differ my ball from others. I use 1 blue dot below the number on each side of the ball & that's it.

It is a matter of personal preference but IMHO alignment aids are to be customised by the golfer and not the ball manufacturer.

I love what Titleist does and their ventures at adding alignment aids have been somehow fruitful, however, it is better to allow buyers the option to customise their golf balls online instead of providing fixed alternatives.
