  1. Firstly thank you very much for the half dozen proto type AVX i used it today at the renaissance golf course east lothian and have to say the ball was brilliant although it was calm the flight was good and felt really nice when hitting iron also putting.Decent durability so all in all thumbs up its going straight into my bag and i'll use it all season .Thanks once again team titleist.

I tried out the new AVX yesterday and was impressed with it. Feels much better off the driver than the previous version and was able to pick up of mph of ball speed.

I tried the 2022 AVX. It is not for me. Back to the V1, my old friend!

Not enough bite around the greens with wedges and it did not change ball flight height enough to be useful in fighting windy conditions. Feel was softer on irons and metals, but I really noticed it off the putter. Experienced a loss of speed and feel there bigtime.

I have to stick with what I know. My instructor has always said "choose the ball you play from the green backwards."

Hope it can work for others as it is nice to have options to help improve their results!

My Titleist rep gave me a handful to try last week.

I was a fan of the original AVX when it first came out a few years ago. I could really see a difference in ballflight, particularly in the wind. I played it that very first winter when they were only available in limited markets. (2017? Can't remember now.) I had been fit for Pro V1 in prior years and hardly ever played the 1x version.

During the second iteration of the AVX, I made some swing adjustments that affected my path into the ball. I found a new (at the time) Pro V1x one day and began smashing it off the tee. Every time I switched to the AVX, my results did not seem quite as good (though certainly weren't bad). So I picked myself up some Pro V1x and started playing them nearly everyday, except in windier conditions, where I still liked the more boring flight of the AVX off the driver. (Iron distance with the AVX has always been strong for me.)

I have been playing the Pro V1x as my primary ball for the last couple years now. However, after playing these new 2022 AVXs given to me by my rep, I am torn. I was wowed by the first drive I hit with one. My longest drive that day. Sure, I put a great swing on it, so maybe it was my best swing that day too. Yet, every drive I hit the rest of that round was really satisfying. Certainly, the boring flight of the AVX and subsequent roll-out on the firmer conditions that day helped. Yet, my trusty Pro V1x could not compete distance-wise off the tee that day. I love the feel of the Pro V1x overall, but the 2022 AVX really impressed me.

I have a feeling, I will be switching back and forth this season between the new AVX and present Pro V1x, depending on how my swing is working that day, as well as the weather and course conditions.

Funny, every time I try a ball fitting, the regular Pro V1 comes out on top, in theory. Yet, in reality, out on the course, it's the Pro V1x, and now once again, the 2022 AVX, which seem to perform best for me and my actual swing.
  6. Same here. Longtime X player, but I recently tried the AVX, and liked it very much. I have several dozen ProV1X in reserve, but I might switch to the AVX when I run out.

The AVX has been the perfect ball for my game. It has the best flight off my 755’s of ANY premium ball I’ve used. Also, great distance with my driver with reasonable forgiveness. It does feel a bit less “lively” off the putter, but I’m willing to work on that to get the AVX’s performance tee to green…I hope this ball becomes a mainstay in the Titleist lineup!

I don't hit the ball extremely long distances, so I love the extra distance and control with my irons that the AVX gives me. Also, great feel around the greens!
