Wondering if any of you play different Titleist balls during a round of golf (of course within the rules of golf)? I play some courses that get a bit of wind later in the day and impact a number of holes where I have to hit into the wind. I love the Pro V1 and the AVX and started using the V1 mostly and putting the AVX in play on those windy holes. Ive noticed an advantage to doing this on full shots and havent noticed a big change in feel around the greens. My buddy thinks Im crazy for switching around. Thanks for any comments.

Short answer, no. While I can understand adjusting to the conditions, playing multiple ball types in a round brings into additional information I have to remember. Balls while being really similar in characteristics don’t play the same. If the weather changes and I switch to a different ball I now have to remember what this ball does and what my yardages are, what window it will come out of…. Etc

In windy conditions I would rather move the ball back a little in the stance, take an extra club, swing easy to lower ball flight.

Using 1 ball will actually be better in the long term as you will be more used to it even in adverse conditions.

I agree with TSmith. Playing 1 ball throughout all conditions will give you a better sense of what that ball does in all conditions. You won't have to remember how it checks up or rolls out on a green from 150 yds out. Or how it feels off the face of the club VS another ball. I myself am into feel & ball flight. I have a window I see and want to flight the ball in that window. I don't like really firm feeling balls either or really soft soft ones. So I know I wouldn't be able to change & play the same way.

I play by the one ball rule, always. Find the ball that works best for you in ALL conditions, and use that one exclusively.

No way!! One ball, same feel, adjust for the conditions when you need to. And play the same one year round. =)

I like to mess around sometimes and try different balls. Sometimes different is fun.
