There are conditions when the AVX outdrives my ProV1x. The AVX flies lower and rolls out more so on dry, firm fairways or windy days, the AVX is shorter in the air but longer overall. That said, the significant difference in feel, especially off the putter, is not worth me switching back and forth. I will three-jack more greens with inconsistent lag putting than I will gain hitting one less club into a green. If you do go AVX, my suggestion would be to stick with it and not go back and forth. That goes for any ball. Good luck. All three Titleist premium balls are awesome.

Can’t really comment on the comparison between Pro V1 and AVX, but I can say for certain the new AVX is longer than the previous generation.

Normally play the AVX during the winter due to compression haven’t tried the new ones still have a couple dozen of previous gen, need to try them.

I agree 100% with Dale! I've been instructed to select my golf ball from the green back to the tee. And that has worked well for me. I have a great appreciation for everything the ProV1 gives with my putter and wedges.

As Dale points out, when the conditions favor the AVX, it is longer. Hard fairways are one factor. Your launch and descent angle make a difference. As well as spin. There are guys with really high launches with too much spin can benefit - without being over 50.
Well past 50, I don’t get as much distance with the AVX since I need more hang time to increase distance. In my case the X gives me better results off of driver than the AVX. Same with holding greens. Your results will vary, but only through on course comparison will you be able to tell which is better for your game from green to tee.

I think it has more to do with launch and course conditions than anything, so every player will be different. Test and see is all you can do.

AVX feels like a wet sponge to me...way to soft.....the characteristics are there....low launch, low spin, but the feel is not god for me.....the V1 is sometimes too soft for me as well but i like how it plays.....
