  1. Let's say you are walking around with a pot-lid. When someone throws a base ball at you, you have to block it with the pot lid. You have two options. 1. Grab the handle of the pot lid and block the ball. 2. Grab the side of the pot lid with both of your hand and block the ball. The first case is the MB. If you can hit the ball on sweet spot which is about size of dime, you will get the best feel and the result. On the other hand, if it is off the center, the vibration and shock will be much more than second case. Needless to say the ball will fly every direction. The second case is the CB. If you hit the sweet spot, the feel will be slightly less pleasure than the MB. Instead of the concentrated sweet spot in the center, with the help of the CB's "RIM" around the club, the vibration and shock will spread. As a result, it will feel softer and the ball will somewhat fly to the right direction. If you hit the sweet spot, MB will give you 100% satisfactions. CB will give you 90% satisfactions. If you MISS! MB will give you with 50%~ 60% feedbacks. CB will give you 70%~ 80% satisfactions. I hope it helped you understanding CB and MB better. It’s more than just looks or higher lower ball flight…IMO understanding the physics and grab the right club for your skill level is more important. PRESTON from EUGENE, OR

Damn Dude you live in a rough neighborhood. You have to walk around holding pot lids while people are trying to hit you with baseballs?

    Good analogy though.

Preston, interesting?? have you played both?? the differance between the Titleist CB and MB is very little, my opinion having played both is that a top end player will not notice any differance, it is a personal preferance. some CB's have a slightly thicker top edge and the blade might be about 2 mm longer. then some MB's are more forgiving than some CB's or let me say softer. I am not talking Game improvement clubs. I am talking Titleist CB and MB, Mizuno MP68 vs MP63. the one area where MB and CB's are different from bigger CB irons such as the Mizuno JPX 800 Pro is that a miss hit still goes straight but you lose distance, with the bigger CB's with a mishit you maintain some distance but have much more deviation in direction. The other issue with irons such as the AP2's are that the ball flight is much higer than the MB and CB. I recently player in a top Masters tournament in my country South Africa age 50 and above, most of the A division player who started playing 30 yrs back still play with MB or CB's. one guy age 71 still play of a 2 handicap using Ben Hogan Blades. He can hit shots that very few people can hit. he has lost distance as can be expected but his ability to shape shots is something to behold. I believe if you want to improve ball striking, get a 6 iron blade and hit some balls.
  4. Guys, quick question. I’m an avid golfer that plays cavity backs, but have hit a friend of mines swoosh vr’s and instantly like the smaller head and additional challenge. What’s out there blade wise would be something to start off playing?
