I personally am hooked on the AP1 irons; however, I am one of those of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" school and hate to part with proven performers. My dad and I are both like that (he had a set of Apex irons for 25 years and I had a set of X31s for 27; he still carries a set of Burner Bubble woods that are 20 years old and has had an Acushnet Bullseye putter since the 1950s).

Aloha from Japan Lou. I am in the same boat. I have 762s on DG R300 shafts, and love the helloutuv 'em. I had some concerns about losing spin due to my belief that the grooves on my 762's would be worn due to their age. But during my last practice they seemed to be producing enough spin.

Anyway, I started looking into a new set of Titleist irons even if mine aren't "broke", and wondering if the AP2s, a mix of Ap2s and CBs, or even a full set of CBs are in my future.

I actually made that exact switch (from 762's to AP2's) about 2 years ago. The thing I noticed was that the 710 AP2's just felt better than the 762's. I would definitely recommend at least giving the AP2 a try and doing your own comparison. I didn't notice much in the way of distance gains or losses, for me it came down to falling in love with the feel of the AP2.

I had a favorite 7 wood that I had been using for 1 1/2 years. It had been my go to club on the fairway but lately I've been hitting high fades off the tee. I got a later model 5W and 4H from TM (SuperFast) and hit both them better and straighter (and they were on clearance pretty cheap) so, as painful as it was, I parted with the 7W. Best thing to do is a side by side comparison on a launch monitor and/or the driving range.
