Titleist clubs are on a 2 year cycle. I expect Titleist to release the AP2 716 series in late fall, see the demo heads by November. They already have a 716 MB in play on tour. I purchased a used set of AP2 712 until the 716 AP2 are released.

Titleist have already released the 718 range. For what it’s worth, I’ve played the 710 MBs, 712 combo set of MBs and CBs, 716 CBs and now I’m using the 718 AP2s. They are the best irons I’ve had. I’m hitting them at least a club longer and my dispersion is tighter.

I purchased a new set of Titleist AP2 714's from a friend of a friend. I stepped down on a club by accident and had it replaced. Dicks golf shop told each of my irons were a 1/4 to 1/2 inch longer than the standard to show in there system. that raised some concerns to me. As I played these clubs now for a year I noticed that the plate in the back of the irons (that had the Titleist name on them) on a few clubs were no longer there, they must have popped off and I didn't notice. I also noticed as I pressed on the back of the irons that still had the Plates on them that they moved ever slightly. these irons also don't have serial numbers on them as does the separate Vokey SM6 wedges I purchased this year. My question is did I purchase knockoff clubs instead of real Titleist irons. should they have serial numbers on the irons 3 through PW and is it possible the plates with the Titleist name on the back of my irons move slightly and can possibly get dislodged? please let me know is you possibly can.

I'm told via this forum that the serial numbers on Vokey are the order number (both mine have same number) as they were custom fit. My Ap1's likewise have same number as customer fit and needed loft and lie changed.

Some have said they have Vokey's without serial numbers.

Many moons ago I bought some Cleveland wedges off eBay and when I had a fitting the fitter said although they were numbered he had a feeling they were clones. The only way to check as to return them to Cleveland who would confiscate them if found to be illegal. I guess Titleist would do exactly the same....

Perhaps it's time to get fit for some 718's and get some sleep knowing you have Titleist clubs...
