I had them in the original AP2s and loved them and when I bought the 714 AP2s my fitter changed me to XP95 S300s, because he thought I needed a lighter shaft. Big mistake. The Project X 5.5s are great shafts and I would recommend them. I hope that you have visited a fitter and see how they fit your game. I recently went in for a new fitting and I am a bit older that when I had the Project X shafts. I was getting fitted for the new 716s and ended up with the new AP1s with an XP105 S300. Everything was different from my last fitting in October 2013. I must say that I really like the new AP1s and the accuracy and the distance is unreal, but off course the lofts are juiced a little. At my age, 70, help has arrived and I am in the break in period and am adjusting, which comes with most new clubs, going back to cast from forged. Ensure you see a well trusted fitter in your area.

I currently have the 5.5's in my 714 ap2's and love them.
My last set prior had the 6.0's and played a tad bit firmer...
The PX 5.5's are very consistent and provide me the best feedback for my game.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Cheers

I have Project X 5.5 shafts in my 714 AP2 clubs. Absolutely love them! Talk about a consistent ball flight with all clubs. I would highly recommend them.
  5. I'm playing Ap2 716 with PX 6.0. Very good fit. Help to lower both trajectory and spin. I also tested with KBS, good feeling but it was too spiny for me. The easiest way is to decide is to test!

Have them in 714 ap2 and love them. When I was testing found I got a better ball flight, would not go back to standard shafts.

    Hey Harry,

I played the Pxi 5.5 in the 714 AP2, loved the way they felt, very smooth obviously lighter than DG S300 or Project X. Project X 5.5 (std. stiff) will play slightly softer and fly higher than DG S300. DG S300 plays closer to Project X 6.0. I got fit for the 716 AP2 on Trackman and found that the KBS Tour 90 was better for me than Pxi 5.5....lighter, but had less spin and I picked up about 4 yards more carry. My simplest answer for you...if you want to hit something a little lighter and fly higher, go Pxi. If you like a lower ball flight and a heavier shaft, go Project X. Hope this information helps.
  9. Harry, I use the Project X 6.0 shafts and love them in my new AP2 716 clubs!

Definitely softer feel than my previous DG X100 shafts...

I have Project X 5.5 shafts in my AP2s and I love them. I was fit for them last year and that was the recommended flex. They have been great and I would definitely suggest getting fitted.
  11. Its funny how the golf swing determines the ball trajectory. In my case i was getting a very high ball flight with the projectx 6.5( titleist ap2 714) which living in chicago was kind of detrimental during the windy days unless you like the ballooning effect and the massive drop in distance. Personally i was reccomended the kbs c tapers and the kbs tour shafts by the fitter. The c tapers were slightly too low so i went with the kbs tour. And they work great. Moral of the story is you have to go and test them out yourself and dont just concentrate on distance gained or other peoples recommendations. Look at all the variables available to you and make a decision based on comfort and control. Good luck
  12. Does any one know how the 6.5 rifle graphite shafts in the ap2 would be. I play the 695 mb with dynamic gold s 300. I'm just thinking of going graphite in my irons. Either something like these ap2s or lbs tour graphite shafts. Love my 695 mb just want same heads with graphite shaft, but I have never played irons with graphite shafts.

The question is a little like "what toe hang will work best for me in a putter". What works for someone here may not work for you. The only way to know is find a Titleist fitter if not a Titleist Thursday. In the 90-110 g shaft range, it no longer is just graphite vs. steel. There is a lot of overlap in feel and launch. One can't even assume that turning 65 means getting graphite. At 68, I did better with the AMT Red in an AP3 over the KK Tini graphite. Previously used whatever 65 g graphite was the base option.
  14. I have 915 driver and want an affordable senior shaft can any one help
