  1. I recently bought a used set of 714 AP2 irons and the grooves seem to be a bit worn. I got a groove sharpening tool, but I am not sure whether to use the "V" or "U" groove. Any advise? Thanks!

    JBulman,

I believe the "v" groove and the box groove are the two types of grooves which work with sharpening tools that some golf club building supply stores sell. Someone might correct me but I believe both these grooves are pre-2010 USGA rules change. Therefore your 714s which released in 2013 are new grooves and can not be sharpened with a tool but need to be re-milled. Like I said I could be wrong though.
On a personal note I attempted to sharpen grooves on an old set of Titleist DCIs once and ended up butchering a few of them pretty bad. Might want to have a professional do it. Good luck.
  3. What type of grooves are in the DCI 822 OS iron's?
