I reshafted my APs with the SteelFiber 110 stiff to help with arthritis. It helps. They are great shafts.

I'm not sure if you can send your clubs into Titleist for re-shafting, but check out the link below to view the Custom Options booklet and review all the shafts for irons that are offered by Titleist (just in case). You could also choose a reputable repair shop in your area to do the re-shafting.
Along with all the shafts offered by Titleist, there are also some new very light steel shafts hitting the market that might be an option for you. Do some research on the internet or talk with your fitter to get more information.

I'm under the impression that NSpro Zelos 7 is the lightest steel shaft in the world. That was from my research when I re-shafted my clubs some 4 months ago. nipponshaft.com/.../steel_zelos7.php

I have these in my 716 CB, and I love it. The AMT I originally ordered it with were heavy for me. I thought about all other options, but I wanted to stay with the steel shaft. The weight competes with graphite light- the performance are steel characteristics.

Also, I saw a respond here by a TT staff that the NSpro Zelos 7 shaft can be ordered as an off menu option.

The shaft itself is very good. I've enjoyed it on my CB 716 for a year until I moved on to another set of clubs. What it has done for me was my swing became smoother and more effective in pure strikes. The lighter shafts are much easier to control. I'm happy to announce to you that the distance I had with the Zelos 7 was very close to what I had (AMT) - PW 130 stock, 8i 156 stock, but the better part of is the tighter dispersion. The Zelos 7 was the answer I was looking for at the time.

I would consider buying a new set instead of re-shafting due to the price of shafts and the installation costs. Like Barry said there are more lightweight steel shafts on the market now, for example KBS has come out with 90 gram steel shafts. My advice would be to go get fit and compare the costs of re-shafting vs a new set.

What are your current shafts? lighter does not mean better? dispersion will change.

True Temper makes a "Super Lite / SL" series of shafts. Have the X100's on my irons. Great feel & tempo for me.

A local clubbuilder had a ZELOS 7 R flex 6 iron club to test. I spoke to him today and he is also considering changing from his MODUS3 Tour 120 X flex to ZELOS 7! He plays off 4 handicap. Recommend replacing the set with new irons with the shaft you require. THe cost of replacing shafts are usually at least 50%+ of just buying new.

I did the smart thing in September. I was playing 716AP1s with XP105 S300 shafts and went in for a fitting by a Titleist Product Specialist up in Pawleys Island, SC. I am 73 years old and he put me in the new T300s with the TRUE TEMPER AMT RED, R300, Weight: 95g, 107g (5-W). During the fitting, I was hitting the 7 iron 155-160 yards, which is not bad for my age, over the top of the flag consistently. With the old set I was hitting my seven 145-150.....bottom line....see a qualified Titleist fitter.....worth it, if you want to improve you game and have more fun......cheers

I agree with others, it is probably best to buy a set of irons with the shaft you want rather than reshafting. I am 72 and play most every day. Three years ago I switched to i80 steelfiber shafts and have been very happy with them. Dispersion is good and I am able to play 27, sometimes 36 without getting too tired.
