Wanted to get some opinions here, I have the 917D3, and love it. I have shot my best rounds since getting fit for this driver. My question is, does anyone feel like they are leaving yards on the table using a 917 vs say, Epic, M1, M2? The 917 for me is point and shoot, very consistent, feels and looks great, but wondering with the reviews online if I am missing something.

I am not looking for another driver, and don't really have a place to compare with other drivers, but wanted to know if others have compared and what were the findings.

    Any opinions are appreciated. Thanks.

Most other manufactures are “longer” because of the longer shaft. For me, I have no problem giving up 5-10 yards if my next shoot is in the short grass.

Ive heard some that have had success with others and some that had better gains with 917s.... Im not a scratch and probably couldn't tell difference and thats why ill just stay with the T.

If you were fit by a good fitter for your 917 you ahouldnt be leaving anything substantial on the table. I have owned all of the drivers you mentioned to try against my 917 and nothing is as consistent or forgiving. I have confidence in my 917 and for me that is huge.

Distance is in the eye of the beholder. I played a round with a young gun with his new TM and he was long. Long left, long right, and even in the fairway now and again. He has an off the rack shaft and the shaft is clearly taller than my 917 45" D2. I find my D2 is so much more forgiving than my 913, and taking an hour for a fitting, really maximized distance and dispersion. If you equalize shaft length and get fit for the shaft best for you, the differences will be no more than close. I look it as there are a big 3 in drivers this year, and the other two don't offer the customization that Titleist offers. Toss in the sound of a square hit and the lack of Marvel comic colors, I'm happy to stay with Titleist.

Hi, I've tried a few of my friends drivers, The cally Epic Sub Zero and the new M2 but I still prefer my 917 D3 10.5, I didn't see much, if any difference in yardage between the Titleist and the Epic, the M2 was awful !!
If you've been fitted for your D3 then just trust it.

I was fit by a Certified Titleist Fitter for my D3 and it was a very through and detailed fitting that by the time was all said and done, I gained 17 yards off my previous latest driver from cally. So no, I don't feel I'm leaving any yards on the table.

This may be the first year in several, that I begin and end the season with the same driver!

Thanks for the replies, I am very happy with my 917. I was just curious if others had seen a difference. I was fit for my 917 at a Titleist Thursday, very happy with the results.

I've hit them all, with buddies in the retail business. It's all shaft, as the heads are all USGA regulated, YES, there are 2 that, for me and my SS (115-118) are longer, one looks bad to the eye, the other felt like hitting a rock......917 for me.....

So would you trade all that for an extra 5 yards? . We're all a little guilty about chasing incremental yardage when hitting fairways and trusting what you value is way more important. Relax and have confidence in what you have.
