  1. Hello, I play the Ap1 710. 2 of my irons have the markings of P and the other has W. Can someone give me the specs (ie, degree and distance I should get from these clubs)? Thank you

If you look at the club link above, then select previous models at the bottom, you can find all the past models. I checked and they are 45 deg for the P and 50 for the W. How far you would hit them it dependent on too many factors in your individual swing.

    Greg -

Distance is impossible to say. You could hit a pitching wedge 145 while I only hit it 130. But loft is the main thing to watch:

710 AP1 Offse Bounce Loft Length Lie Swingweight
    3 Iron .245" 1° 20° 39.00" 60° D1
    4 Iron .220" 1° 23° 38.50" 61° D1
    5 Iron .195" 2° 26° 38.00" 62° D1
    6 Iron .170" 2° 29° 37.50" 62.5° D1
    7 Iron .145" 3° 33° 37.00" 63° D1
    8 Iron .125" 4° 37° 36.50" 63.5° D1
    9 Iron .110" 5° 41° 36.00" 64° D1
    P .105" 6° 45° 35.75" 64° D1
    W .100" 7° 50° 35.50" 64° D1

If you've had these for years (or purchased used) I would take them to a local club and have the loft and lie checked. If you are consistently hitting on the heel or toe it could mean a lie adjustment is needed. If you are on the toe you need to add loft to the lie or if towards the heal decrease the lie loft. Take the information I provided above to a local club/shop and have them assure that clubs are set to these specs to start and then adjust accordingly. Hitting a tree root, rock, or just years of use can adjust these numbers. Based on these specs you could probably plug a 54 & 58 into your set to round it out.

Your questions was a bit broad so I'm sorry if I confused you!

You can check out the complete specs of your set here

As far as the distance that is all relative to your swing. I guess my first question is when do you use your 9 iron? You should be about 10 to 15 yards lower for your "P" (pitching wedge) and another 10 to 15 yards lower for your "W" (approach wedge). With that said... and seeing as I am only an average weekend hack and the closest I will ever get to the tour is watching it on TV. I use my "P" at around 110 yards and my "W" around 100 yards +/- 10 yards each. I hope that helps.

You can always get specs of clubs under Clubs Previous Models. If you can't find it there then I suggest searching google. Here are the specs of the set you have in question: www.titleist.com/.../ap1-710

As far as distance and degree you should get. It depends how you strike the ball.

9I/P/W are 41/45/50 degrees. Distance is variable since humans hit these. Your gap from 7-8-9 should be consistent for 9-P-W. You can view the W as a Gap Wedge to a 54/56 sand wedge. When the PW was 48 degrees, there wasn't a need for a gap wedge/
