It should hold up longer than that, but there are so many variables involved. I paint mine every other year with outdoor acrylic paint at a local craft store. You can make them whatever you want and its relatively easy to do.

Given the fact that these irons are roughly 4 weeks old/new, I'd prefer not to paint them myself.

agree 100% Titleist strives itself in QC and the making the best clubs call them as they test for things like this

I have a brand new set of 718 MB 5-P, one month old, my 7 iron is doing the same thing. Titleist script paint coming off. Notice the irons mark up very easily from just normal bag wear and course wear. Played 4 rounds with them.

This will always happen with forged blades as the metal is softer then cast irons. Consider them battle scared!

This happened to both my 6 and 7 irons. Just bought the clubs in march. I know it doesn't affect the function of the club but it's really an eye sore.

Is this type of irregularity covered through Titleists warranty? I see that they don't offer refurbishing services.

Easy fix with gloss black paint used for plastic car/airplane models. Brush on and wipe the chrome clean with a rag.

Yup it takes maybe 10 minutes at most to do a whole set.

I actually just did the bottom groove white on all my irons and wedges almost 2 weeks ago, and looks the same as the day I did it

I find Testor paint to work great, plus they have every color and shade of every color. I think the little bottle costs $3-4, $2 for a bottle 100% acetone. Just dip a tooth pick in the bottle slather it over the 7 on the sole and titleist script (don't even bother trying to stay in the lines). Let it dry for 15-20 minutes or longer, wet some paper towel with the acetone and wipe it over the painted area/access paint.

You won't be without your clubs for 2 weeks or so, and costs much less than shipping them out, and having them insured etc.

Also Golfworks sells golf club paint which I have used for many years. Comes in 4oz cans with the brush attached to the cap or paint pens.

I believe it could also happen from leaving your clubs in a hot car/trunk. Not saying you did that, but just that extreme heat can have an effect. I know it’s frustrating but I would just do what Dale suggested. It’s pretty easy. I can’t see sending your clubs back to Titleist in the prime of golf season. It might be two weeks without your clubs. I can’t be without my clubs for that long. At least wait till there’s snow on the ground before you send them back.

This always has and always will be a problem with chrome heads. The slick and shinny nature of the material will not let paint adhere very well. If they did some sort of acid wash on the finish it would hold paint better but then it would have a dull finish and be susceptible to rust.

I thought a lot of people must do their own paint fill, cause in the U.K there's limited options on custom clubs.

Good to know how they do it. I do think if those clubs were mine I'd be a bit miffed and I'd be on to either titleist or the golf store to help sort it.
