I've switched from the 718 AP2 PW to the Vokey SM7 46-10 F. I was happy with the decision as I'm able to alter the trajectory better with the Vokey vs the AP2 PW. The SM7 does lose a bit more distance on mishits, but nothing that puts you in a bad spot.

A lot of golfers do this seems like it's mostly the better players who want a more consistent shot.

I do agree it's definitely more versatile compared to the stock pitching wedges.

Love a vokey! went back to my sm4 & 5 after using engage wedges for a long while I can't believe the difference they make.

Yes, switching to a vokey PW is a great idea! The only issue that I have ran into with runnng this wedge setup is that you may have or may not have a large gap between your PW and 9i. I personally carry my PW 120 and 9i 140 so the 130 yd gap always can be a bit tricky to try to execute just right.

I pulled out the PW from my AP2 set, replaced with a Vokey. Actually my Titleist fitter was against the move but I like it. I like it better for 3/4 shots, as I can hit a lower trajectory from 120-130. It's a judgement call, to be honest, as I think both have advantages. I understand my fitters philosophy, maybe I'm just stubborn.....

I actually went in the other direction with my 716 AP2s. I had a Vokey 50*, 12* bounce that was very useful on a prior course where I worked (long bunker shots!). At the facility where I presently work, I found the bounce was not useful around the greens (too much bounce, thumping the sole before catching the ball when chipping/pitching), so I purchased a set matching (and same shaft/lie angle) W/gap wedge. I'm very happy with the play characteristics of this club!

Me personally rather keep my AP2 set PW as it's much better for full and three quarter shots on most any lie and I get the same feel as all the other clubs in the set. I also have a 50° F, 54° S & 58° M Vokey. 50° is for 85-100 yards. 54° is for 70-85 yards. 58° is for anything inside 70 yards. I almost got the set GW but it threw my distance gap off.

I agree with Darron. I also kept my AP2 pw in the bag and I don't regret it. I have Vokey wedges (52,54) but my pw is a warhorse.
