  1. Had my fitting last week and ordered a TS2 immediately to replace my 915D, can't wait to get it in the bag. The look and feel are great and Eric said I averaged 12 yards more carry!

Dave, based on your fitting, did you order the TS2 in the same specs/setup as your 915D?
  3. Would really like to finish my fitting BUT the rep for this area is playing favorites. Unless you are a member of Hickory Hills in Springfield you will have to wait. Twin Oaks received partial shipment several members waiting to be fit, Golf Headquarters received only partial shipment-I guess Titleist does not want my business nor that of several other golfers I personally know of in Springfield. Missing - Shafts, Weights, Heads. I know Golf Headquarters and Twin Oaks have called the rep requesting he complete the shipments but all they get is excuses. If one club has them, they all should have them!!!

P.S. the clubs I did hit felt good but fitting need to continue.

In every previous Titleist titanium driver (983K, 905R, 913D3, 917D3) I've been at 9.5 degrees.

    In the TS2, though, I'm 8.5.

Only took twenty minutes to get me at 13 degree launch angle and 2200 rpm.

Amazing how good the stock options are.

  6. I now own a TS3. I went to a fitting and hit my 917 and then had the TS3 head put on the same shaft and set identical settings. I picked up 10 mph ball speed and 20 yards. Finished the fitting to get the ideal shaft. I recommend everyone play something else so I have an advantage.
  7. Just got fit for my TS 2 Driver by Club Champion. Very much looking forward to getting it.

Did an early fitting out of curiosity with no intention to purchase. Currently play the 917D2 - when I saw the spin rate numbers and yardage gained I ordered one. I see an increase in distance, but what I find most impressive is the decrease in dispersion on shots that I can feel were less than optimal. In the northeast I have had only a few opportunities to play, but thus far I am hitting many more fairways! Looking forward to the next season!

First tournament rounds after receiving the TS3 driver and TS2 3-wood (second and third rounds with them in play).... I never thought I would drive the ball as long and as accurately as I did that weekend. Better-Ball tournament win for my partner and I against a field of local legends. I was also able to set new personal scoring records for those two days on a tough Glenmaura National Golf Course. These woods are legit.

Best of all was the chocolate milk my kids wanted to drink from the trophy.... that made the weekend that much more special.

A huge shout out and thank you to Brock Neighbors and Tom Staples for their time and effort in getting me set up correctly. Awesome jobs guys - keep up the great work.

Is there anyone out there who tested the TS and didn't miraculously pick up swing or ball speed or distance versus (specifically) the older 915 or 917 models? I'd love to hear from you and some theories or facts as to why.

For everyone else who have been miraculously blessed with greater swing or ball speed, I have some questions and maybe some of the staff members can answer these questions too.

I'm reading a lot of posts from those who were "fitted" for their TS driver, but I'm wondering, were you not "fitted" for your previous driver too, specifically compared to the 915 or 917 models?

If so, for those who picked up swing speed (club head speed), did your fitter explain why or how? eg. was the TS head lighter or shaft lighter? Or, did you work out over the summer or change your swing mechanics? Or did they simply say, "the TS just makes you swing faster and we won't explain why" (compared specifically to the 915 or 917 models).

For those who picked extra distance with the same club head/ball speed, did your fitter explain why or how? eg, did the TS produce a different spin rate, or launch angle, or ball flight (apex), or did it create extra down wind, etc? If so, were these numbers only achievable with the TS and not specifically with the 915 or 917 models?

For those who picked up ball speed, was it despite your swing speed stayed the same? eg. did you somehow pick up 5-10 mph ball speed with the exact same club head/swing speed, specifically, compared to the older 915 or 917 models? Did your fitter explain why or how? Did they use some special ball?

Given there is a maximum allowable "spring effect" COR, did the TS achieve this and not with the 915 or 917 models or did the max COR set by the RSA and USGA change recently in the last 6 months I'm not aware of?

If someone out there can give me an honest answer to all of these questions I'd be very interested in listening and reading your responses.

    thanks!

    Hi D,
When we brought out the TS drivers and started testing and fitting, almost all saw benefits. Not everyone gained clubhead speed, but some that did not gain clubhead speed, gained ball speed (from the club or shaft or combination) or they saw a reduction in spin, which also added some distance. Due to the new face/head, some saw very good numbers in tighter dispersion especially on hits that would normally not be in the fairway.

The newly designed TS head allowed players to swing it faster, so speed increased. The new face design also helped increase forgiveness and assisted with faster ball speed.

We were also able to move the CG lower, not just further back - the difference being that you need both in combination with dynamic loft to lower spin (and keep forgiveness).

This combination of faster clubhead speed and lower spin (plus forgiveness) is what is giving players better numbers, straighter ball flight and more distance. So it's not just one thing, but a combination of new head, face, CG, lower spin and MOI that is giving players overall more distance or better dispersion.

COR or the newer CT measurement (Characteristic Time) has not been changed. We actually inspect 100% of our heads to make sure they are at max USGA tolerances.

DJ - I was poorly fit for a 915 by a major retailer. Basically to sell something off the rack. So I wasn’t surprised that the 917 improved distance and dispersion. I’m 68 and have improved some physically but nothing dramatic. A local range has a top tracer that only gives ball speed. I was in the low 120’s with the 917 and flirt now with 130 with a TS2. It feels easier to swing. I’m getting more drives over 220 yards than ever. I’ve also added a TS2 4W for 190-200 yard par 3’s that I used to use driver. This is not leading me to a club championship but it does position me to use irons more and fewer hybrids. You could say the 910-915s were only evolutionary but 917/TS were different enough that a good fitter is needed to maximize it. If you’ve got a 910-915 or another driver 4 years old, off-center hits will impress you with the the forgiveness of the new models. Cathi happened upon my fitting at TPI and explained why the TS can rethink that more speed can be for real.
  13. Yep - I got fitted at the Titleist National Centre and found no difference at all in swing speed, ball speed or spin numbers between 915 D3 and TS3. Did pick up about 6 yds in distance which I frankly felt was down to +0.5" in shaft length!

What I did love though was the feel of the club face and the improvement in dispersion. Yes I ordered and have just taken delivery of a new 8.5 TS3 at 45", but bought the shaft separately (Fujikura Atmos Black Tour Spec 60-X) and it is awesome - have gained about 15yds and slightly reduced spin, but it is down to this shaft, NOT the head. But everyone's different
  14. I was lucky enough to try a friends TS3 over the weekend. I loved the sound and feel of the club. If I hadn't invested the money in a new driver this year I would definitely be buying one. It may be time to update my 915 3 wood.

Just got my 8.5 degree TS3 Driver with Even Flow T1100 White 65 (6.0) shaft. Gained 5 mph on my swing speed and 25 yards. It was a little cold out so I took it to the range and let them fly. Consistent ball flight and once I got warmed up they were flying. Hopefully it warms up a little maybe I can get a couple rounds in before the snow flies here in ND.

I got fit at a Titleist Thursday a couple of weeks ago. Ended up with a TS2 8.5 Tensei 55 stiff 45 inch D2 swing weight and a TS2 15 wood Tensei 65 stiff 42.5 inch D2. Can’t say enough positive things about both. The driver just wants to go straight. My miss is block and I’ve had two range sessions and 1 round and haven’t hit any blocks. My big miss right has turned into a 15-20 yard push that stays in the right rough. I’ve owned a 909, 913 and 917, and the TS2 is by far better than them all. The 3 wood is amazing too. Off the turf it’s easy to get up, and off the tee it goes far and straight. Can’t wait until the hybrid comes out next year so I can swap my 818 h1.

I just picked up my new TS3. I was fit yesterday, and had gone through many fittings for many brands, but nothing outperformed my png G20, until yesterday. J Hill was the Titleist rep that fit me, and he did a great job. The difference between my old driver and the TS3 was significant.

I picked up the TS3 15 degree ans TS 2 18 degree with the tensi blue shaft (stiff) and am in love with them. I have never been able to play a fairway wood until these. They have a very soft feel to them and a nice quiet sound when center hit. Very forgiving.

I went to get fit for the TS driver (2 or 3) and i just couldnt get similar numbers as my current 2016 M2 driver. I wanted to love the TS driver.... i was constantly 20 yards short with the TS vs my current driver.

I recently received my TS3 and couldn't be happier. I was fit into the Fujikura Pro 2.0 Tour Spec 7 Stiff and am hitting bombs off the tee. Quickly replaced my 2017 M2.

My only question is where to purchase the weights? I was fit into a D6 swing weight but the weight that came with only puts it up to D3. I've added lead tape to get it up to D6, but would much rather have a heavier weight instead of the tape.

    Great work Titleist!

Just played my first round with my new TS2. Didn't exactly get fit for it, I ordered it based on previous stats from other fittings and a shaft I was familiar with and happy with in my Titleist hybrid and fairway. It worked very well. Loved the club and hit it very well. Pulled one shot but otherwise hit if very well, long and straight. Headed to Myrtle Beach for the week on Saturday for a true test at 8 courses throughout the week.
