  1. Are the edges on the MB's sharper and more suited for a "digger?" In other words, do the MB's travel through the ground easier while making divots? I've heard a lot of different things, and this is one of them, but I'm not sure if I believe it.

No they do not. The MB is best suited for a shotmaker that is pretty consistent in their ball striking. Being a sweeper or a digger is not part of the equation.

Go to a Titleist Thursday and get properly fit. You will save yourself a lot of money and second guessing......
  3. I agree with 19hole on this one. The MB is strictly for a pure/consistent ball striker.

Personally I game the 716 MB's and love them. Go to your local golf shop or do some research to find out what Irons will fit you best. As mentioned above, you can save a lot of money just by getting fitted properly.

If you are a digger the MB might be tougher for you as there is less sole with and less effective bounce so the club wont get out of the turf as fast as one of the other irons with a slightly wider sole. Go get fit and see what works best for you.

The more recent MBs actually have a slightly cambered sole. It's one of my favorite features of the design...

Highly recommend that you get fitted.

  6. The leading edge on the MB's is ground slightly so that they don't overly dig as well for better turf interaction. I'm sure one of the trusty Team Titleist guy's can validate this as well :)

My 718 CB/MB combo set should arrive today. When I tested the 718 models at a Titleist Thursday recently, it was apparent that the smaller sole of the CB/MB swept through the turf more effortlessly than the slightly wider AP2. HOWEVAH, this is definitely dependent on the individuality of a swing. I can tell you the pre-worn edge on the 718 irons is a game changer from the 716s. But you will only know how the club interacts with the ground through your swing if you go get fit. Titleist Thursdays are incredible. You must go to one and I definitely recommend finding an event hosted on a grass driving range as opposed to indoors or on a mat.
