During my relocation from the east to west coast, my circa 1991 Titleist DTR (Distance Through Research) clubs were either lost or stolen. Dad gave them to me when I finished grad school, so there was much sentimental value attached to them. Which modern Titleist clubs are closest to these? It may be a while until I replace them since finances are tight, but I would like to know for future reference. Thanks!

I was curious what they were, so a quick search on EBay there are multiple sets to choose from. Hopefully none are your set. Unless you have serial numbers.

Go to a Titleist Thursday fitting near you and you'll get a good idea which current models feel good to you.

I would have to say AP1'S. I had a set of DTR's and they were definitely a game improvement club. Sentiment aside, AP1'S are a quantum leap from DTR's. They can be ordered individually, say a 5-7-9-PW then fill in as funds allow.

Thanks for your helpful responses guys. I'll keep an eye out on Ebay in case they turn up. I guess I was about due for an upgrade when you have to look up what they were. The were so old that the guys at my old golf shop once tried to figure out their age by guessing the presidential administration in power at the time. I have never been to a club fitting. I'm probably due for one, and it can only help improve my game. And ordering them individually is a great idea. Once I get settled, I can begin rebuilding my set.
