I went from 10.5 917D3 Aldila Rogue 60R to 10.5 TS3 Tensei Blue 55R. Really recommend everyone get a certified Titleist fitting. Titleist Thursdays are free if you can find one near you.

Get with a titleist fitter and he will have you try a number of shafts until you guys get your numbers right on trackman....they know their business and will get you the right set up.....

Any Titleist fitter even at the bag level will have most of the stock shafts available in a couple of flexes. In the 917 I had the Diamana M (red - senior flex) and in the TS I ended up with the Tensei (R flex) instead of the corresponding Kuro Kage. I wouldn't limit myself to R/S Tensei. To note, Dale, Chuck and I are "average" age 66 and getting fit is more important than ever at our age. You might even end up with a different loft head than what you have today.

JHaase, of course the recommendation would be to get a fitting (preferably from a Titleist certified fitter). However, you can always start by putting your current shaft in the new driver is you like your current setup!

Yep, get fit. I tried every stock shaft available in both the TS2 and TS3. Our pro is a Titleist guy and will let me hit 'em until my arms fall off because he enjoys helping us out. Ultimately I settled on a TS3 with the HZRDUS Smoke shaft.

Getting Fit for Titleist Driver is the best way to go. You might find that your thoughts about what shaft and head setup is best for you doesn’t match with the track man data. A Titleist fitter will be able to tell you how to best maximize your swing with the equipment.

Just went thru a TS Driver fitting with a Titleist fitter. Read my post "Bullseye" and read my story. I'm 65 myself so I know your dilemma.

I just got fit for the TS3 and my guy put me in an EvenFlow T1100 X-Stiff shaft. if your swing speed is not 90+ then you should get stiff or maybe regular flex. The EvenFlow shafts look nice and preform great in my opinion.

Just today I hit the Tensei 60, HZRDUS Smoke black 60, Diamana 60 Reg Blue (my current shaft) Diamana White, Even Flo 60, Even Flow T1100 all in a TS2 & in my 915D2

My Titleist rep/fitter decided I had some work to do before we spend money on a shaft or driver. Most of the numbers were similar to one another but not enough to make the change......

So you can go and buy but it might not make a difference you think it should make. Get fitted to make sure it make s a positive change so you don't waste money and the possibility of a good score, it could save you some money and heartache in the long run.

See a fitter, definitely. But don't let them just push the 3 stock shafts that have come out with the TS line. That has been my biggest pet peeve about my fitter during the last two iterations, both with the irons & this year with the driver. I was fitted into the Smoke shaft in the TS2 but when I asked to hit other shafts from other OEM's, my fitter conveniently didn't have any.
I've been wondering if this is common practice for most fitters associated with Titleist? Do they get incentives if they sell more of the stock shaft with the new releases?

Get fit. Period. When I got fitted for my TS2 driver, I was shocked to see what I ended up with and so happy I did it the right way.. Starting up the Titleist Thursday is possibly the best thing they did for us amateurs.

As most have said before, go get fit. I went from Fujikura Pro Tour Stiff to the T1100 Evenflow Extra Stiff and saw quiet the difference!

I completely agree with the consensus on this thread. Getting fit properly by a Titleist fitter is the right way to go by far (no pun intended). Free on Titleist Thursdays.

Get a fitting. I went from a 917D2 to the TS3. Not believing what I was seeing, I actually pulled out my 917D2, hit it, then put the TS3 on that shaft. My ball speed increased from 145 mph to 154 mph with all things being equal except the driver head. Wow. I walked out with my new driver and been very happy as that speed/distance has transferred to the course.

I play a 9.5 degree 917D3 (9.5 913D3 before that)

but fitted into a TS2 at 8.5 degrees.

Was surprised to fit into the 2...and to drop to 8.5.

Launch conditions were optimal, though (13.5 degree launch angle, 2150 RPMs), and that's what matters in the end.
