Curious if this set up makes sense. I presently play with PW (46 deg) and Traditional Wedges of 50 deg, 54 deg and 58 deg. I only play my PW with Full swing ( 75-115 yds ) and chips. My 54 with Pitch (40-85 yds) and Chips and my 58 Pitch ( 25-40 yds) out of bunker and chip. I do not like my 50 deg.

With that said, would moving to a PW, 52 deg, 58 deg st up make sense, Match my 50 Deg to my PW and use for shorter full swing and chips, or match to my 54 and 58.

  2. Ken - My PW is 46 and I have your exact current setup of 50/54/58. For me that is a solid setup, especially since I have no desire to carry a 60. My 2 cents is keep your current setup. A 6 degree gap on wedges is a lot. Good luck.

Ideally you want to keep you wedges evenly spaced and 4-6 degrees apart. Based on the information you’ve given I would say your better make up would be 52 and 58. With the distance you hit your pw I would guess you could maybe use some help at the top of your golf bag. Maybe add another hybrid or fairway wood?? Hope this helps!
