What is this crap Titleist? Im sorry but this makes me really angry. I got fitted last year end of the season and was fitted to TS3 9.5 degreed with Hazardous Smoke X stiff shaft. I then played indoor simulator league during winter (short season) and couldn't wait to play outside with it. My driver sat in my house for majority of the winter waiting to be used at the first opportunity to play outside. I got fitted on Thursday Titleist days I struggle with my launch angle and create a bit more spin then I want. At the time this was my best option and still able to stay Titleist Loyal. I would have absolutely waited and tried all drivers before dropping 450.00 and now having a bad taste in my mouth "Do I have the right driver for me or did I settle on driver". I made the mistake and bought a 917 driver was the shortest driver I have used from Titleist in years. I appreciate the effort that goes into R and D and developing drivers but you cannot do this to your consumers. Latest and Greatest historically has been in 2 year intervals not 10 months later.

    Hi Bryan-
First and foremost, thank you for purchasing your custom fit TS3 driver after visiting one of our Titleist Thursday fitting events. An expert fitting is the best way to ensure that you maximize the performance of any golf club.

For background, the new TS1 and TS4 models are not replacements for TS2 and TS3. For an overwhelming majority of golfers, TS2 or TS3 will provide the best fit in the TS drivers lineup. TS1 and TS4 extend the line to meet very specific performance needs. TS1 is an ultra-lightweight design for golfers with moderate swing speeds who would benefit from increased launch and spin, while TS4 features a low, forward center of gravity for players looking to aggressively reduce spin. This complete lineup of models now provides more ways to speed for all types of players.

Thank you again for trusting your game to Titleist. If you still have questions about TS drivers, we’d encourage you to book an appointment for another free Titleist Thursday fitting to see if any adjustments are recommended.

    All the best,

Thank You for the response. My TS3 Driver custom fit is at A1 and Standard Weight no changes to draw or fade weighting. The frustration that I feel is that not all drivers were available at the same time. My back spin RPM is in the 2500 range and goes up when the launch angle changes. Is this going to be common occurrence moving forward? Should I be waiting until all clubs are release before getting fitted? I am considering new irons will all the new models be available at the end of this year or should I be waiting again until 2020?
  4. Hello Bryan,

If I can speak for the fitter at the Fitting Event, last fall most, if not all, fitters didn't know about the TS1/TS4 that was coming out in the late spring. So, I can imagine that the fitter was working with all the info available to him/her. The fitter tried his/her best to fit you to your swing characteristics. BTW, 2500 range is a pretty good backspin. Very nice!

We can all assume that products evolve and change and R&D keeps things very close to the vest until the last possible minute of release. Like other industries, such as automobiles, things are always changing. It's incremental and buying something one year, will not diminish or degate your golf game.

Thanks for being a Titleist loyalist. I understand your concerns. And I think with Titleist's mode of new products every two years, you can safely assume that new iron lines are coming to our attention in the coming months.

    Enjoy!

Looks like the Attack Angle and Launch Angle is the issue, not the spin. With 111 mph of swing speed the TS1 is off the table and I would believe if you neutralize angle of attack to 0 or even +1 or +2 you'll have the results you want from your TS3. Your ball speed is high and smash 1.47 or better. You have a good driver, don't feel slighted.

Thanks I have been working on that so far this year. I have gained more distance and making sure to keep weight behind the ball. Driver is always the odd man out for me. If its working I can shoot close to even/struggling with driver turns into a bogey day.
