You can always adjust the surefit hosel from a-1 to d-1 which would make the loft 8.75*. Don't think there would be that much of a noticeable difference between 8.5 & 8.75.

It will change spin & launch angle a bit. When your were fit was there any change to the SureFit hosel setting, i.e. something other than A1. If there was then that would be an issue with adjusting the setting do D1 (if you are right handed). Personally, I'd sent it back and get what you ordered.

I am right handed. The club fitting had me at A1 setting for the 8.5 degree driver. I’ll do the D1 setting as you guys have suggested and see if it is comparable to when I was fitted. If not I’ll send it back for sure! Thanks guys!

A word of caution, if you do adjust it down and go out and hit it and are not satisfied with the results, you may not be able to return it because you have used it.

Adjusting loft affects the apparent face opening at address. Titleist drivers are 0.5 degrees open at "neutral" (A1 - RH) Adding loft effectively closes the face. Decreasing loft to 8.75 degrees will open the face a little more. As others have said, hitting the driver will confer ownership to you. Unused you can work with the dealer and Titleist if you had a document at the end of the fitting that advised ordering an 8.5 degree driver.

The price is substantial enough to get what you were fit for. You shouldn't have to adjust you or your grip to accommodate the driver. That's what a fitting is intended to do.

Thanks for the advice guys. I had up to that point already hit the driver as soon as I got the club, but the pro shop said they’d eat the cost if I wasn’t satisfied. I hit some more today and I’ve decided to keep the 9.5 degree driver as the flight was incredibly similar when adjusted. Thanks for your replies!
