I have always wanted a set of Titleist irons but didn’t feel I had the game for such a set. I recently turned 40 and and after several years of not really playing a lot of golf, I decided to get back into playing. My wife bought a set of AP1s for me for our anniversary/Father’s Day. I’ve hit the range twice with them and I’m ready for an actual round this weekend to try them out. I’m so excited to finally have Titleist irons. Now, to replace my driver, woods, wedges and putter. I just began reading through the forums this past week and love to see how everyone on TT share info. Thanks to all!

Nice Derek, good luck! Its a slippery slope once you start with 1 set, then you need the rest :) Enjoy the new sticks bud!

    Hey Derek,

Welcome to TT!! That's great to hear that you got a new set of Titleist irons. Titleist has such a great line up of irons, that they fit all types of player ability.

Now that they introduced two new drivers, their driver line really fits everyone and anyone. They just need to test and get fitted in the one that fits their game the best.

Let us know how your round goes. Play well!

  8. Congrats Derek,

I was in the same boat as you. Always wanting to hit Titleist and never feeling I had the game for it.

I started the season with Vokey wedges but nothing else Titleist in the bag. I found a good deal on a set of 714 AP1 irons and pulled the trigger. Like you it gave me the itch. I hit some clubs to see what was best for me and the hunt was on for more clubs to fill the bag. I've added a 917D2 driver, 917F2 3 wood and 816H1.

All were used but in great shape and by trading or selling my old clubs I have replaced my entire bag for virtually no actual cash investment.

I can say I have never felt more confident over the ball with my irons or driver. Yesterday was actually the first round with my driver. I hit my 2016 TM M1 well but never had the control with it I seem to have with my D2.

If you are anything like me, Derek, after your first round you will be searching for more to finish off the bag.

I can say I was never one to worry about having different clubs in my bag as long as I could hit them, but it sure does look sweet seeing Titleist top to bottom in my set now!!

Congrats Derek. I have tried telling so many of my friends..who are actually lower caps than me, that Titleist makes a line for every level of player for scratch to the 20's. The 718 AP1 are a fantastic looking club. And the TS1 driver is in my mind the best driver on the market for a slow to mid swing player (80's to low 90's ss) and it sounds fantastic.

I can't wait to try the new iron lineup later this summer, both the T200 or T300 look pretty good to me, and should fit me well.
