I really love the New TS Line of Fairway Metals...Pure Awesomeness in Performance. Not a fan of the insanely thin crown though...My three month old TS2 15* has suddenly picked up an ultra small ding. I have no concept of where it came from. The club is always covered and protected between shots etc. All I can think of is that the ding actually happened while the club was in it's Genuine TS Leather Head Cover. Total Bummer.

    Cheers, DR. K

Take it back to the Titleist authorized retailer where you purchased it and see what they think.

Definitely a bummer. I can handle the normal wear you see on fairway metals and hybrids, mainly the face and even the edge of the crown from sandy turf but seeing a dent on top is a little hard to ignore when setting up over the shot. I will be double wrapping my irons in my travel case as i could see those causing a problem if the baggage handlers were tipping the bag upside down.

    As above worth a shot.
Let us know what they say about it.

The exact same thing happened to my 818H1 19* hybrid the week after I bought it last season. No idea how it got there. Made a shot from deep rough, hit the ball well, went to put the headcover back on and noticed the dimple. There was no nick or paint scratch of any sort; just a little puckered area the size of a pea. It may have happened on a previous shot, I don't know, but that is when I saw it for the first time. I spoke with Titleist, who said I could send it back and they would take a look to see if maybe they could tell if it were a problem in manufacturing of some sort, but couldn't guarantee anything until they saw it with their own eyes. I sent them pics first, which looked quite similar to yours. I agreed they needed to see it in hand, so I said I would send the head back to them.

Though I was disappointed with the appearance of the dent, it did not seem to affect performance in any way. I kept telling myself I needed to send it in, yet the more I used it, the more I kept loving the performance I was getting from it and the harder it was to give it up. I kept saying to myself, "I'll send it after tomorrow's round." Then wanted it for the next round, and the next and the next and so on. About 175 rounds since, it is still in my bag with the dent in it, being played virtually everyday. I never could give it up for the week or more that it would take to send it back to Titleist, so they have still never seen the ding in it. I will now never be able to sell the club in the future for more than a few bucks, as a result of the ding, but I figure by now, I have gotten my money's worth out of it. It's like my imperfect-looking little child who performs better than anyone else in the family. I love it as much as my other "children" in the bag, and rely on it as much or even more so than most of them.

All that said, I'd recommend you send it back to Titleist, especially if you have an old driver to use in its place for a couple rounds. Titleist is as good as it gets in taking care of their customers. I'm not saying by any means that they will send you a new head, but they certainly will not shirk their responsibility if they see anything that could be even the slightest of a manufacturing problem that resulted in the ding. Let us all know how it turns out.

I would freak out if something like that happened to my TS3! I’m always super careful with my clubs. Might have happened while you were loading on unloading them from your vehicle.

If it bothers you enough to have it touched up, I've heard The Golfworks does excellent work.

I know it's easy for me to say sitting here in my recliner but...it doesn't look all that bad and should not bother the shot capabilities of the club.

    Sorry that it happened though...

In the process of getting the club looked at.

    We Will See.

Don't know what the outcome was with your fairway wood but I have a similar issue with my brand new TS3 Driver. I noticed a few almost imperceptible indentations. Upon looking closer I noticed there is what looks like a seam that runs hosel to toe possibly from when the individual components were welded. The indentations are located along this seam on my driver in a similar location to your wood. I happen to think these are manufacturing imperfections and are more noticeable with the mirror black finish. Like you I am currently having Titleist look at my club.

    Mine was replaced...
Something was going on for sure...my replacement has been nothing short of amazing.
The club even feels a bit hotter than the first...could just be me...or something inside the head was causing the issue.
Titleist took care of the problem and we are all in a happy place!!!

  12. Did you ever send it in and try to get it replaced?

Im sure if you bring to a authorized Titleist dealer, they can advise and send back. at least youll know your options
  14. this seems to be a common issue with the TS line. Not a good look for Titleist. they need to sort this in the next lot of woods. I think you can go too thin after all.

My guess is that the club head hit the alignment stick on its way down the golf bag.

Even with headcovers on, be careful when traveling as the luggage handlers will turn your travel case upside down. I always wrap the irons with a large towel to keep them in place as best I can (except the occasional TSA inspector takes it off). The force of a loose iron will ding your driver, fairway, or hybrid. Some folks like to remove the heads when traveling and put them in their suitcases. I don't go to that much trouble but do try to keep the irons in place.
  18. I was gifted a TS2 driver and the same thing happened to me. I always cover it, and I always take it out of my bag, to put it in my back seat before putting my bag in the trunk. I uploaded the video so you could see. I have no idea how it got there. I was also looking at how they weld the crown on the dent seems to be right on the seam.
