I had been playing the 818 H1 but found that it launches way too high with little to no roll out so I made the switch to the H2. While I was able to lower my trajectory, I found that my consistency is not to my liking. My tendency is always a pull or hook with this hybrid. Recently, I have been researching the new U500 series utility irons and have found that, in most cases, these clubs eliminate the tendency to hook while still performing like a hybrid. Does anyone have any experience with utility irons? Anyways, I am on my to test both the new TS hybrid and utility irons over the weekend on the launch monitor. Thanks!

Titleist 503H was my first Utility iron in 2005. I think this one was only for a scratch player, hard to hit and very low ball-flight. In 2013 i had a Adams DHY driving iron, beside my Titleist 913H. Meanwhile my game is much better and i am still looking for a driving iron. My current hybrid the 818h1 is perfect, no hooks anymore, mid ballflight and very forgiving. Like the cobra utility iron but will demo the U510 next time.

So I think about this new combination
TS 2 Driver (in the bag)
    917 f2 3 wood (in the bag)
    818h1 21* (in the bag, switch to TS2 h in 19*)
    U 510 4 iron

    or
    5 wood instead of hybrid + U510 4 iron

Thank you for your feedback. I currently play a TS 2 Driver & 3 wood which have been phenomenal. I have tried the TS2 5 wood but did not hit it well. So, I went back to the hybrid. For my age & playing partners, I am pretty long so that is why I was contemplating a utility iron for more consistency. With the courses that I play, it would mainly be used as a 'fairway finder' on tighter holes which is what my goal with the hybird was as well. However, I do plan on testing the TS Hybrids as well for comparison.

    I think a 4 Driving iron and a 19* or 21* hybrid is a good combination.
