If you could only have one club between your 3 iron and driver, what would it be?

    Hybrid Fairway U500/510

  2. 5 wood. I have a TMB 4 iron then I go 5W, 3W Driver. I would drop the 3 in a heartbeat. I've actually been thinking of dropping the 3W to add in a 3/4 hybrid (need to determine gap).

I've been hitting the TS2 5W so well, it's taken the place of the 3W.

What's a 3 Iron??? This old man goes Driver, 3 wood, 19 degree Hybrid, 25 degree hybrid, 6 iron - Pitching Wedge, 50, 54, 58 Vokeys, and putter. Yes, only 13 clubs but that works for me.

In the not too distant past, it would be a 1 iron, and there was nothing between that and the driver. However I clubs changed and I ended up trying a Titleist 2 Hybrid a few years back, and let's say it's been a love affair. Haven't tried the new U500/510 yet, but plan to and that could change everything.

Good on you! 61 years young and I never could hit a 3 iron, ever. Most I ever remember carrying was a 4 and that was a long time ago. One of the many things I love about this game is the ability to put together the set that works for each individual's approach to the game. The more confidence we have in the set, usually the better the results. Great that Titleist gives us numerous club style options and the ability to purchase just what we need as opposed to the "standard" sets where those of us that are "long-iron challenged" don't have to park the 3-5 in the garage to gather rust. There are times when I wish I could flush a 3 iron but that 19 degree hybrid is a bit more consistent for me. Love that you are still having fun gaming your 3 iron. Enjoy!

Interesting réponses. I'm with you Dale, there are many ways to skin a cat. I guess I am showing my age. I thought I made a serious concession when I decided not to game the DCI Blacks with a 2 iron any more and go with the AP3's with a 818 h2 17*. LOL. Hit 'em long and straight.
  15. TS2 3 wood
    Driver
    TS2 5 wood

I agree Dale. The last time that I gamed a 3-Iron was about 5 sets of clubs ago.
