I'm sure you are all aware of the ball position for your irons, more left of centre for long irons, more central for shorter irons. That has always been the norm for standard lofted irons. I've always played my AP2 five to seven irons left of centre and the eight to wedges more central. I've now got a set of T200's and the lofts are four degrees stronger so does that now mean that my shorter irons begin to move more left of centre.

As Arnold Palmer says, "own your swing". I've never set the long irons that far in front of center, on advice from my pro. You'll need to dial in your own positions in adjusting to a new set of irons. You will have more head offset that will impact you more than the loft change, so, yes, you'll likely move the ball back more.

The club length between a "game improvement" 7 iron (usually about 32) vs a "player" 7 iron (normally 34) still remains the same. I play my 7 iron slightly left of center.

Lou, Your statement about "club length" for a game improvement vs player 7 iron is just wrong. If you look at the standard specs for the T100s, 200s and 300s the 7 iron length is 37 inches. Length is typically adjusted based on a players height. Did you mean to state "iron lofts"?

Richard...spend some time on the range and dial in your T200 ball positioning based on your strikes not the old generalized rule of thumb.

Like the man said: Own your swing. I have 3 ball positions for every club(front , middle, back) it depends on what I'm trying to do. I pride myself on being a ball striker sometimes it works, sometimes not. I'm right handed, sometimes I play my 5iron three balls left of center, sometimes off my right foot. The same goes for short irons and wedges, it just depends on wind, flag position, green speed, ...etc. madgolfer hitemstraight

5,6,7 I play just left of center on my 716 AP1's. 8,9,PW just right & AW,GW,SW a bit further back.
My clubs are standard Length & Lie. now with that said last year because of where my swing was I played everything about 1/2-1" further forward just because that is where my swing was bottoming out in 2018....

Give it some time and do some good range work on position to get them dialed in, it varies at times..

Ball position is relative to ones swing. We aren't robots. For me it starts with Driver inside my left heel to a ball inside of that to my Lob wedge which is inside my right heel. All other clubs are between that. I know a guy that plays every club on full shots in the same place...about two balls left of center. Crazy but it works for him!

I've had a copy of the attached photo for years and keep going back to it for my game. I have no clue why, but for me, it works. It removes additional variables by keeping the ball in the same position (relative to the lead heel) regardless of club. Just remember, as Don O quoted above, as Arnold and Moe proved, own your swing!
