  1. Hello all been a TT member a while but never really contributed until recently when I have looked into it ( I didn’t know there was a forum!! )

So as the name of the thread you will know I have a 917 D2 driver that I need some advice/help with.

So recently got the bug again and working hard on my game with lessons got my handicap down this year to 10.6 I would love a TS driver but I have a young family with two daughters which the wife wants to add another!!

Attended a titleist Thursday which confirmed that my swing has changed since I had my original 915d2 fitted a few years back ( loft and lie in my irons have changed also - reason I can’t afford a new driver is because I want the T100 irons I was fitted in to and before baby number 3 comes along and have even less money ;)

So I’ll stop waffling and get to the point - driver settings can anyone help or suggest any changes/shaft recommendations?

I have a fairly fast swing and Strike is normally consistent with the odd heeled ones in there but hit a baby draw with all my irons but constantly slice the driver! So frustrating!

Settings I was originally fit for was D3 with the Adilia Rogue stiff shaft - as I was fitted for this shaft and managed to get the 917 D2 driver head for free I put my shaft in it.

So if anyone has any advice or tips or recommendations I would love to hear them.

We also have a toptracer range opening up near me next month so I can really see some numbers of where I could be going wrong.

  2. I would say get on the range after looking at the surefit positions and see what changes suit your swing and lie angle better.

I have the same driver and i love it. I put a NVS stiff shaft in mine and it seems the perfect fit for me.

Just do as your subject title says.

Cheers, I have been which is quite funny as I put the Golf pride align grips on them at the start of the year and let’s just say the ‘ribbed’ back of the grip is now facing the other way
  4. Wow i imagine that's kinda off putting when gripping the club. I know that grip has it's benefits but that is definitely a flaw.

Who doesn't love to tinker and find out more about their equipment.

A slice with a driver is likely swing path issue with a different driver swing. You can adjust a baby fade to a baby draw by increasing loft/lie in the hosel settings.

We can all give you multiple opinions on how to fix a slice, but that's just what worked for us. A movie on your smart phone from face front and from the rear will show an eventual outside to inside swing path through the ball to the point the face is open to the path. Online teachers can suggest a change or develop a relationship with a local pro you trust and work on a tweak to your swing path/wrist release.
  6. I may try that as I have changed it to std settings at present to see if that helps. But I am off work for a week not so I may have to spend a bit of time down the range while the kids are at school

As I said I have been having lessons, this is something that i feel has been a great help within the last 12 months and my game and swing has improved no end and with hitting a draw and knowing my misses has seen the scores drop lots, I may go back to my original teacher who moved to Leicester last year for a lesson - he was really really good ( not that current isnt ) Maybe just stagnated and need fresh eyes approach

Looks like more hard work is due over the winter period with the driver and new irons
