Was just wondering if anyone has ordered a split set of T100 and T200. If you have, what did you do with the gapping? I have a split set of AP 2's ( 7-P), and AP3's ( 4-6). I ordered T100( 7-P) and had them bent 2 deg strong to narrow the gap, but kept my AP3's. Now I am thinking about changing the AP3's to T200 ( 4-6). Would you have the T200 bent 1 deg weak or leave as is? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I also played AP2/AP3 combo set and always had a gap issue between AP2 7 iron and AP3 6i. I considered bending the 6i weak and the 7i strong, but felt that would not be enough to solve the issue alone. And I really didn't want to weaken anything!

When I got fit in September, I opted for a full set of T200 since they felt nearly as good as my AP2s (which I loved). I tried the T100s and like them just as well, but that extra distance feature sold me on the T200s. At address, it's hard to tell the difference between them. Toplines look the same. I considered another combo set of T100/200, but would be right back where I was with my AP2/3 set with a big gap at some position in the bag.

I admit, I do miss my AP2 irons, not because I hit the T200s with any less consistency, but more that I liked their look and feel. Overall though, the T200s have solved my gapping issues and I have been extremely happy with them throughout the set. FYI: I'm a mid-single digit handicapper.

On another note, for what it's worth, I kept my AP3 4 iron instead of opting for the T200 version. I had it custom made separately from the rest of my AP3s, with a Kuro Kage graphite shaft instead of the steel shafts like I had in the rest. I loved that 4 iron, so decided to keep it for now rather than spend the extra 175 bucks for the T200 version which I wasn't sure I would like as much. Over this winter, I hope to find an opportunity to hit the T200 version side by side against my existing AP3, as well as a U.500/.510 3 and 4 iron too. By next Spring, one of those options will likely be in my bag in the #4 position, after TS2 Driver, 917 3W and TS2 19* hybrid.

I agree on weakening clubs. AP2 is 34* and AP3 6 iron is 28* Not that a 6* gap isn't unmanageable. AP2 7 iron at 33* would split the difference between the 6 and 8. Weakening clubs increases the bounce.

I read the specs... T100 and T200 have the same lofts as CB and AP2. AP1 is 4* stronger and AP3 is 2* stronger.

If you had a CB or T100 8 iron and an AP1 7 iron that is an 8* gap and that is a 20 yard gap. AN AP3 7 iron is 32* so one could bend the T100 8 iron 1* strong and that would be evenly split between 7 and 9. I'm not a particular fan of bending irons weak because it increases the bounce and, being frank, game improvement irons are atrocious off hard pan lies. It would make better sense to use AP1 for 4 thru 6 and AP3 for a 7 iron and then the T series for the 8 iron down. Or T series for 7 iron down, an AP3 for 6 iron and then AP1 for 4-5. If you hit a 27 hybrid instead of a 6 iron, an AP3 7 iron makes more sense and then "player irons" for 8-PW. 6* gap between irons is not unmanageable. I play a 27H and "player" 7-8 (32-38). I use a Vokey 46 bent 2* strong and the rest of my wedges are 50-57-64.

I find it easier to use a hybrid or iron-wood off a tight lie vs a "game improvement" iron. Not shown in my thumbnail is the 7 iron but I decided to keep both the iron-wood and 7 iron in the bag.
