  1. Having a bit of a ‘mare at the top end of my bag. My distances have been bunching up between driver and 4/5 iron. Obviously illness and changing fitness levels/aging over las 6/7 years have an effect. Having gone to 4 wedges at the bottom end, I’m limited to what I can have in there (here’s what I have to choose from):

    915 D2 10.5* = 190-210 (was 230-240),

    915F 3W set to 16.5* = 190-ish (was 200-220 @ 15*), not nec. straight anymore,

    915F 5W set to 18* = 185-195yds not nec. straight anymore,

    915H 18* (set to 19.5*) = 180-185 when not topped,

716 AP2 4 Iron = 165-180 (was 175-185), often faded, but love how it feels when hit well,

Just bought a 2019 U510 4 iron which is poker straight or slight draw shape, 170-180yds consistently (bad = 165, pured = 185-190), and I want it in the bag.

The above list all used to work well for me but not so much now

    Ideas for top end?

An aside: may invest in 56* vokey if I can find one that can open up for lobs as well as full shots on softish ground, replacing 54*/58* combo; hmmm...

You are now a good candidate for a fitting. Your driver distance may be maximized with either/both a change in loft and shaft. Can't beat an outside visualization of the shot with Trackman/Flight Scope for ideal launch. Only you and your fitter can determine which TS driver to use.
The 3W isn't providing much between the 5W and driver. A TS-2 5W may be long enough to be your only fairway. I've found the TS-2 5W fairways easier to hit than a 915 7W and will be looking at what I carry from 6 Iron to 5W next spring, as I plan to retire the 7W. In the end, a fitter should be able to reduce your load by a club between the 510 and driver.
  3. Thanks for the replies guys. I do tend to hold onto clubs in the bag well beyond their use by date if they are reliable. My putter is 14 years old and is a Yes copy of the Scotty Cameron Newport 2 I drool over. My 5 wood until spring this year was a Wilson Staff Fybrid 5 wood (the one Padraig Harrington bagged the Major with) and if memory serves it was about 12-ish years old; an absolute cert. the 915 5 wood replaced it by lying to me at the driving range fitting . Can’t hit a barn door with it at 100 yards, it goes right rapidly to avoid it...
  4. I'm like you I don't have the latest and greatest but I'm guessing if I did it would go straight in the bag

They say if it ain't broke don't fix it right? Well I guess if it is broke fix it and put something in the bag you happy with and hitting well.

    I'm rocking a 913 3 wood cause the thing still fly's.
