  1. It’s been a while since I have purchased new irons. I come from the days of forged meaning a muscle back and a solid piece of steel. With that being said it was a given that loft and lies needed to be checked seasonally and adjusted.

Can someone please explain this newer co-forging and insert tech that companies are claiming to be forged? I am looking hard at the New CB’s and the T-100 but I am not familiar with the forging and I am concerned with the loft and lie changing over the course of playing. Thanks.

Technology has allowed mixing material including plastic materials to control face flex and add tungsten weighting to move the MOI to add forgiveness. Being forged, you should still check the loft/lie every year. Even cast heads with gaps changing should get rechecked as well.

The cast T-200 has a forged face now. The distinctions in irons is now more about feel and function than the materials used.

The MB is still a single forged head for the purist.
