  1. I am looking at buying a new set of irons this year...I am about a 12 handicapper with on the average a 85-90 mph golf swing...I am looking at getting the Titleist T300 or T400 irons...Does any fellow Team Titleist member have any advice on which ones I should get? I can't tell what the difference is in the clubs...If anybody knows happens to know the difference in them would they please pass that info along...Thank you! Paul

The T-series irons, now with the 2 new additions, pretty much cover the full spectrum of players. The only way to know for sure is to go to your favorite fitter or find a Titleist Thursday. My guess for a 12 hcp is that you will likely gravitate to a T300 or T200. The T400 is a super game improvement in my mind as opposed to the game improvement T300 or almost players' iron T200. Your eye over the club and Trackman will help you decide.

Hello Paul, the best recommendation I can make would be to locate a certified Titleist fitter in your area and pick the best club for your game. Keep it in the short grass.

None of us here can give you accurate advise other than go to a Titleist Fitter and hit both and go with his/her recommendation.

As for the basic differences, the T400 are stronger lofts, they are hollow bodied design, meaning they will likely launch the ball higher and further---again depending on your swing. They have a bit different sole design than the T300. Overall they are built to be more forgiving, longer and higher flying.

But as mentioned do yourself a favor and get to an authorized fitter.

Not knowing what you currently play...the difference would be one to two club difference depending which set you get. Worry about the lofts, not the numbers on the clubs. Get fit and see what works for you. What feels better and gives you the best results!
  6. There is no doubt that a demo day/fitting session is the only way to get questions answered for you. With all the variations now available, I wouldn't get in a rush to purchase without plenty of research. If you like the clubs you are playing now then be sure to bring your clubs to the fitting for comparisons. And most of all, you make the decision. Do not let someone else persuade you into a choice. A fitter is there to guide you and explain the options. Good luck and play well.
