Definitely a personal preference thing that will vary a lot between people. I use the Super Stroke Ultra Slim 1.0 on four of my five Scotty's. Never changed the original grip in my oldest Newport and want to keep it all original for investment purposes. The rest are "gamers" so they are the same. I like the rounder feel and the smaller grip seems to keep my grip pressure down. I tried a 2.0 for a while but went back to the 1.0 and keep a few on the shelf in case they get discontinued.

I really like the Pure putter grips. I also regripped a buddy's set for him with all Pure grips a month ago and he's really happy with them. They seem great and are supposed to last for those who are not so good at replacing grips regularly (like my buddy isn't). I sold him my 716 set that had one year of use and the grips I had put on there, and they were still the same grips. MCC's don't last that long!

Lefty is the Traxion grip counter core?if it is you could get a 25gr weight to put in be close to your 100 little over just a thought

I replaced the original Pistolini grip on my 2015 Newport 2 Select with a Scotty Cameron Matador Large grip. (Purportedly, it's made by Winn.) I experimented with some different Scotty weights in the Newport head until I found the feeling I liked to counter balance the Matador.

My putting average today is nearly 2.5 stokes better than it was before the change to the Matador about 3 years ago. I cannot assure you that the Matador change deserves all the credit, but it certainly didn't hurt my average. I've also made some putting stroke changes and practice/drill regularly, so I'm sure that helps too.

I went for The GripMaster Kangaroo Leather FL27 grip (60g) and bought a 40g lead weight to apply under the grip. The grip is super tacky, well made and has a perforated leather detail.

Normally I use one of my two putters with classic-style Pingman skinny grips. Occasionally when I'm putting badly, just for a change, I'll use a big high-MOI mallet with a fat Winn Midsize grip but I go back after a few rounds. I definitely have been touch and distance control with the skinny grip. Helps keep a nice, light hold on the putter.

I have a png B60 putter with the midsize corded Pingman grip, love it.

The club is a little too light for me and so I use a heavier O-Works 1W with counter balanced grip. Now I know I can buy a lead weights to slot into the shaft under the grip, I may well look into doing it with my B60 so I start to use it again.

Pistolero all the way for me. I love how Scotty Cameron made it from the idea of a hammer handle. Been using it for at least 4 years now and never looked back.

I'm not a fan of Scotty grips as they are using Golf Pride and Winn grips, writing Scotty Cameron on them then charging double the price.

The Pistolini and Pistolero are based on the Tour series by Golf Pride, a very old and widely used pistol design albeit with a modified butt end to give you the axe handle effect.

I am one of the few that doesn't understand the obsession with the superstroke grips. I know they are popular on tour and the thicker grip takes the hands out of the stroke, but I just hate the muted feel and not a fan of the ultra thick grip. I also don't understand why people opt for the counter-balance weights, it effectively lowers the swing weight, yet they want heavy headed putters. To each their own i guess, when it comes to putting the right answer is the one that feels best to you and gives you confidence. I still game my 2004 studio stainless newport 2, it came with a standard pistol grip and i just re-grip it with the same pingman blackout pistol grip whenever it needs it, cheaper than a scotty grip and it has a nice reminder where the "g" is i make sure my right thumb is on top of it.

I'm with you on the SuperStroke grips, Dave M. They feel weird (surface texture-wise) and wear out really quickly, too.

The main reason people like the big counterweight in their putter seems to be (in my experience) because they get a little twitchy with a normal weight putter. You can only go so heavy in the head before it feels very strange so the counterweight lets them pack as much weight as possible into the whole putter.

The best putter I know personally uses a really light old-school putter and a skinny grip and I probably tend to copy him a little bit. But there are plenty of great putters who use heavy putters, too. There's a lot of ways to roll a ball into a cup.

Haha, mine had that grip, couldn't stand it, not a fan of the red and it wore out really quickly, probably only got one season out of it. Ebay would be the first place I would look, but a 15yo grip will be tough to find.
