  1. So I just upgraded from my grandpa's 1996 big bertha clubs and bought some ap3's online. Should I go get fitted for these or just swing em and see what I like?

    Get fitted.
  3. Get fitted and get them from a local golf pro. Makes all the difference in the world to be fitted and shouldn’t cost you anymore. Support a local pro

Ideally you would have been fit before buying but yes you should still get fit and validate that they are right for you.

Getting fit entails comparing models and available shafts. Buying used irons, that option is limited. At this point you can work with a pro shop or golf store that can check and adjust the lie for you swing. You can also have them insure the lofts are correct A pro can also make the recommendation on whether a shaft change may be warranted. But would negate the economic benefit to buy used.

It's best to do the fitting first so that you know what to order. It may end up costing you more to buy the set and then pay for any alterations you need to match your swing than it would to know your needs and then buy to those specifications.

I always recommend getting fitted, a good fitter can see things you can't. Even if you have a certain feel for something, it's always good to get a pro's take, and numbers don't lie. Fit the clubs to the swing, not the other way around. I would think even if the irons aren't to your spec, they should be able to be bent/adjusted.
  8. yes definitely get fitted for any club, it is amazing how just changing to a different shaft changes soo much. getting fitted will make sure you are optimizing everything. if available sign up for a Titleist Thursday, those are soo much fun and helpful. I wish I would of found out about them sooner than I did.
