  1. I am giving serious thought to trading in my 716 AP1's for a set of t irons-i am a high handicapper, and am trying to decide between the 200's and 300's-which ones would be better to get? if i decide to go with the 300's, i saw they come with a 48 and 53 degree wedges-i currently have a 52,56, and 60 degree SM6 wedges (i am thinking of getting SM8 wedges as well)- but can't decide if i want to get a 56 and 60 to go along with the 48 and 53, or leave the 53 out of the bag when i play and get a 52 degree?

Any opinions or advice would be much appreciated :)

Steve, first I would suggest you do a Titleist fitting to ensure you get the right club, regardless of handicap. Some high handicappers have good iron games or need different trajectories as much as they need forgiveness. In that fitting you can get an idea talking with your fitter as to whether the SM8 or T-series would be best for your gap wedges. It will be different for each player based on testing results, feel, and personal preference.

Once you and your fitter decide on the right set of irons, the next part of the discussion for gap wedge revolves around how much you use that for full shots or for your short game. Many players prefer the Vokey wedge for better feel for short game shots. If you plan on upgrading the irons, hold off on getting wedges and then fit for your distance gaps and typical course conditions as a separate fitting after the irons.

Definitely get fit. I am gaming the T300s (13 handicap) and I am satisfied. I have the 48-degree gap wedge and game Vokey’s from there. I switch from 52-56-60 to 54-58-62 depending on course and conditions. Don’t be afraid to hit the new T400s as well. I hit them recently and I was impressed with them. Good luck!
  5. I’m looking at upgrading my 716 AP1’s as well, and I’m planning on going to a fitting before I purchase. I really like the way the 200’s feel but I want to make sure that they are the best club for my game. Good luck

Agreed go get fit and actually play a round with your Titleist fitters demos. Im a 12 handicap with 716 AP1s also looking into a new set. I suspect a blended set will be right for me however the fitting process will define the bag.
  7. Just completed a fitting for the T300's. Have been playing TM for the last 15 years and went in thinking I was going to walk out with the new TM Sim's......uh, no. Loved the way the T300's felt striking the ball and was way more consistent vs the Sim's. Can't wait to get them

I'm fairly new to golf, started playing in June last year, and had my first fitting in December. Went in fully expecting to get fit into the T300 irons, but the T200 were a much better fit for me. Consistency was the same, but I liked the feel of the T200 better. So now I'm gaming T200 4-GW (48°) and SM8 Vokeys from there, couldn't be happier. Long story short, get fit and see what works best for you.
  9. I am 14 handicap
    Should I try the 400 or 300?

There is no such thing as clubs for high handicappers. I was a 25+ handicap went to a professional fitting and walk out with players irons. My friend is a 12 handicap and walked out with game improvement irons.

it all depends on how you hit the ball and what fits your golf swing. This is why I will never buy another club with our getting a fitting.

Definitely get fit! I ran through sex sets in the last year before I settled on my current set. Wish I would have received a proper fitting first...

Always great advise to get fit- to go along with the 53 degree wedge a 68 degree wedge could be a good fit for your sand wedge- unless you have shown to be efficient with a 60 I would avoid it for now.
