Need a 4-iron

  1. I'm currently playing the AP3s - 5-iron to PW. And also the U500 3-iron. Was custom fitted for them all and love them...

But I'm really missing the 4-iron: big gap between my 5-iron and the 3-iron. I don't seem to be able to get the AP3 4-iron any longer (and certainly not custom fitted to my spec). So what do I go with instead - the T200 or T100s?

    Thanks

Another option is to buy a used AP-3 4 iron and get it rebuilt to your spec if you can't match the shaft. 3/4 irons purchased in sets often end up as single irons at 3 Balls, 2nd Swing, and e-Bay. The T200 maybe preferable to the T100-S as it is will be closer in forgiveness to the AP3 and U-500. Mixed sets tend to use the more forgiving clubs in the long irons.

What about another U series club?
  5. Peter,

My thought would be to get the 4 iron as a U500. You said that you have the 3 iron and love it. I would guess that the 4 iron would be about 23* which is about what a 4 iron should be. Since you had the U 500 3 iron custom fitted, I would think that getting the 4 iron with the same specs should be fairly easy.
