  1. I’m looking at a set of 718 ap1s for my girlfriend and saw that Carl’s Golfland has a a great deal on a new set. Does anyone have experience buying from them: are the clubs legitimate and are they a reputable dealer. Thanks for any input!

  2. They are very legit.

Are the shafts and flex appropriate for your friend? This is left-over inventory (T-series has been out for a year). If they need to be re-shafted, the bargain will be worth a whole lot less.

Carl's is an authorized dealer. Great source for low volume Titleist gear, like Aussie hats that most pro shops won't/can't stock having to buy in bulk.

Yep. I have a garage full of those yucky orange tees they send with every purchase. Baylor boy can’t be playing golf with Oklahoma State colors.

I second what Don says regarding an off-the-rack set. Obviously, we don't know what kind of game your girlfriend has, but my guess is that the option Carl's has leftover are either R Flex or S Flex with AMTs in them, and either could be too stiff for her. So, re-shafting might be something to be considered, which would obviously add more cost.

Of course, if she's an accomplished player already, an R shaft may be just right. I'd recommend, at the very least, if she can already play the game decently, that she get on a monitor in front of someone with fitting expertise who might be able to give her a quick, free evaluation as to swing speed and transition, without going through a full $ fitting. You can likely accomplish that at any big box golf store in your neighborhood, without having to pay for a full fitting. However, if she is already accomplished, I would definitely suggest she get properly fit. Maybe the AP1s would be perfect for her.

    Yes, Carl's is VERY reputable.

Carl's is fantastic, in store and online. I've been going there for more than a decade. I had a fitting there a few months ago and came away ordering my new and first ever Titleist clubs. They also have a Trackman Range set up on the driving range at both of there locations if you are ever in the Metro Detroit area.
