  1. To preface, I'm a weird mix of caring about my equipment and being a bit anti-new club advertising, as over the history of my game, I've realized, it's me that needs to get better, not my clubs.

I was fit for all my clubs back in 2015 with Titleist, but at that point had a 910H that we skipped over as I wasn't looking to change it. With the club being 10 years old, I went against my mantra, and decided to give a shot to trying something new. The 818H weren't that old, but could be found quite economically, I took a stab at a 21 degree given how well reviewed they were when they were released.

Round one, I took it to the range to see if I was going to hit it that day.... it took 3 swings to realize this was the club I was always missing. I didn't dislike my hybrid anymore. It just squared up soooo easy, as someone who has a multitude of swing thoughts to not leave my face open. I couldn't miss with this thing. I loved it so much.... I got home and bought the 25 degree and threw my 5 iron in the basement....

Round 2 just for 9 holes, played the 25 degree into two very tiny greens I never hit between 170-180 both to 10 feet (missed both putts short, but that's another story)

I left the 2nd round and now have ordered the 19 degree which I will deloft and boot my 915 5W out of the bag, because if it swings anything like the other two, it's my new fairway finder.

I can't imagine what they could have done to the TS Hybrids, as the 818's are now my favorite club of all time. Long winded I know, but I share this story for hope to the curmudgeons like myself, that question why if every driver is 10 yards longs than the last one, why I hit the ball 10 yards shorter than I did 5 years ago. Maybe test out the new equipment every once and a while haha.

LOL, if I bought all the drivers for an extra 10 yards from DJ's sponsor when 2 a year was their release cycle, I'd be singing Linda Ronstad to him (Blue Bayou). There are reasons to upgrade with a fitting every couple of years. Bodies get older, club heads add forgiveness, and shafts improve, 10 yards from the sweet spot may not be possible, but 10 yards more with less dispersion an inch off the center of the spot is now more likely..

I have one 818 23 hybrid, but with a set of T400 irons I need to refit the gaps to driver, I've demoed the TS 21 and it may replace my 915 7W. The 818 has been a joy, but the TS just seems to have a little more pop off the face. My next fitting will determine if I get 2 or 3 hybrids in the bag. I "can't imagine" the TSi can be any better, but if the TS is easy to hit and fills my distance gaps, that's all I need. With the TS on sale, it will still be a win.
