  1. Currently gaming 718 AP2 but recently cheaply picked up a 716 MB 7&8 iron on EBay. I’ve been playing my rounds with the two MB clubs and somehow feel as though I’m getting better strikes and hitting em longer and straighter. They seem to be easier to hit. I play both with the x100 shaft. I think it’s a result of the MB’s feeling or being lighter than the AP2’s. It’s more of just a golf swing. I kind of want to go to all blades now. They are so much fun to hit. Has anyone else encountered this?

I went blades on a whim when the first came out 20 years ago. It was quite a ride! Best of luck with your decision!

I was previously AP2 man, played both 712 and 716; I had traded old Scotty for set of Snake Eye Blades 675B; figuring why not try. The feel on those were much smoother and felt different than AP2. Definitely was not as hard to hit as previously led to believe. This got me into set of 718 MB...and last year playing my best golf ever. And is true they do feel lighter, and easy to control. I felt I knew where the club head was in my swing. I would say....every one should give it a try...not for everyone....but definitely not as intimidating as others say.
  4. I had been a long time blade user however when I turned 50 made the move to cavity back and currently playing the T100 irons. The MB irons gives you more mass behind the ball. It could just be the additional loft on the irons getting the launch & spin numbers optimal for your swing, especially playing the X100 shafts.
