  1. Hello all! Just signed up on the team. I'm heading to a fitting the end of December. I've never been fitted for clubs so I'm excited to see if I can tell the difference from the "off the shelf" stuff. I am worried that my swing will not be great since I haven't been able to play in a month due to cold weather. I'm worried that I won't know the right questions to ask. I just know I want Titleist and I know my fitter is very reputable as well as certified to fit for Titleist. Can you guys help me out me? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TT and great news about your fitting. Don't worry, it will go well. If you end feeling like you and the fitter are not on the same page, just ask about a reschedule. Probably will not be necessary. Even if you are not hitting your best, they will still pick up on lie requirements and pretty close on shaft flex. They know what to ask you like "what is your common miss?" and "what do you want most, distance, feel, forgiveness?" Just relax and have fun. Enjoy.

Only advice is go in with an open mind and let them fit you. And if for some reason your swing is off, schedule to another time when ya more comfortable. Don't sweat it and just have fun. Good luck!

Getting fitted is the right way to go. After using off the shelve I could tell the difference. Had an enjoyable time and learned a lot from my fitter.
  5. Thanks guys! Believe me, I am extremely open minded and ready to listen. Tired of “just guessing” at a game I love so much. Happy holidays to all!
  6. I can usually determine what specs a player will need after maybe half a dozen swings. However, to give the player confidence (and money's worth) in my conclusion we spend enough time to confirm it and discuss why we came to that conclusion. The player has to be on board and communication is key - express your tendencies and let them know if the shots they are seeing from you are typical as well as what your common miss is. They know what they are doing and will be focused on things you may have never thought of such as what type of sole will work better based on your attack angle and divot depth. Be open minded, part of it is trial and error, i may not think a player needs a longer club, but if they stand fairly upright and have a bad back and plus a 1/2" feels better for them they need to communicate that - it makes no difference to your fitter what specs you end up in and if you feel like things are going in a direction that doesnt feel right reschedule for a follow up fitting.
