I bought some second hand 716 MB irons 5-P, with CB 3,4. I've noticed on the back of the heads where Titleist is stamped, that the boldness of the letters is inconsistent on a couple of clubs. Some are thicker than others, the 8 iron being suspiciously heaps thinner than the rest. I've taken them to the course and range and they hit pretty well (8 iron included), but as I've never hit them before, I wouldn't know the difference. Is anyone able to provide some insight to this? There is also a serial number on the 6 iron, but it didn't show anything when I tried registering it.

    Hi,
It is not looking good. Maybe I am wrong but I have a set of 716 MB that I bought new.
I could tell you that there is absolutely no default in boldness and form of letters on the complete set 3 to pw. The quality of product is perfect. Serial number on 6 iron is normal.

You could see sometime that the fake have a different script or form of letters. Grips are smelling and are done with inferior material.

    Nothing like the reel product.

An authorize Titleist dealer could confirm if the product is a genuine product of Titleist.

    Best regards,

Been victim also of Fakes; I have set of 718 MB...to there credit...looks and feels good. In fact I would go out to say that I played 2020 with them and played some of my best golf. But like buying a Rolex and later finding out the cost of battery is worth more than the watch....the shine comes off.
I will still continue playing with them, and will be replacing with either another set of 718MB or 620....but this time from AUTHORIZED DEALER.....Lesson learned on my part.

I always wonder....why we never listen to our own advise we give others about buying from Not Authorized...

Take it down to a pro shop. Depending on how long someone has been in the golf business, they can notice fakes fairly quickly.
