  1. Hi guys, So im a noob to the golf world, but I have a knack for being good in a lot of sports. I must say Golf is definitely the hardest sport I ever got into. Iv been playing once a week for the passed 4 months, and am getting a hang of my swing and hitting the ball. Of course I have dreadful shots too but all in all I feel I'm improving every time I head out to the course.

Im looking to get a set of irons, so I have a couple of questions.

    1. AP or T series? Is it fine to look into the T series? if so, which ones accommodate for beginners (most forgiveness and straight line shots), is it the T300?

2.Should I wait for Jan-Feb for any new releases for 2021?

    3. Should I go for 5-PW or 6-PW?

My first mistake in golf was teaching myself. BIG mistake and still unlearning the worst habits. So...make an attempt to find someone you can work with on making sure you can learn positive improvements. Once you do that, then the coach can also suggest if you should get a used set for now or move onto getting fit for whatever the current model is. As part of that fitting, a good fitter will recommend what irons to use, and if you should "stop" at at 4/5/6 iron and move to a hybrid/driving iron/fairway to complete your set. What you don't want to do is buy a T-series iron for full price from a retail/internet site by just picking the head you like the looks of and not caring about the shaft. I've also found the worst fitter I ever listened to was ...me.

You can check with local pro shops. For me a starting point is a pro that offers multiple programs for youth and women. Even if they are too busy to take you on, they will recommend someone that is a good coach. There's national teaching network available through Golf Channel. GolfTec is an indoor option. My issue with GolfTec was they kept comparing my swing with Tiger's but I'm now 70 and built like Craig Statler.

BTW, Titleist is on a 2 year release cycle so irons won't be updated until late 2021.
  3. Thanks for the reply!
The thing is I live in Egypt and unfortunately there are no pro shops to purchase clubs nor golf centres to test out clubs either. The coaches here are very good in coaching but not knowledgable in types of clubs good for different types of players. So I don't really have the luxury of getting a fitting.
So I am willing to take that step for now as I don't want to stop playing nor do I want to keep borrowing my friends clubs. I'm thinking of going for the T300 (used) and hope for the best...
if anyone has any quick advice following my reply that would be great..

Thanks for the tip on the release cycle..

    Happy New Year all!
