Is your seller trustworthy? There are numerous articles on how to check. It is really hard to look at a single club/set and tell. There are authorized Titleist dealers that will resell with a guarantee for authenticity. Not sure-fire, but at least there is remedy. Everything else on the internet carries a risk. From "new" 718 clubs shipped from outside the US as the worst, to individual sellers that either sell counterfeit on purpose or selling from dissatisfaction that they don't work as expected. The large transaction sites are simply open air markets that do not police the millions of transactions they facilitate.

What Iron is that? I have authentic 718 AP2's and I can compare mine for you. If you take another straight photo with the club head, I can take the same photo with mine and line them up in Adobe Photoshop to see if there are any discrepancies. By looking at this right now, It looks fake. I say that because my Titleist logo is smaller and the forged characters are smaller as well.

Provide me with the some photos!
  4. I have limited knowledge, but when your pictures are placed next to my 718 AP2’s they don’t match. I purchased mine through a metro-Detroit county club, so I’m going with mine a real. The “F” in forged is different and the 718 doesn’t look as crisp either.

Hope you didn’t spend a lot on them.

  5. They turned out to be fake after speaking with a very helpful Titleist rep.

For an off the shelf set the ferrules were wrong, golf grips, SN was off (typically start with a 0 or 1), wrong stock shafts for that model, shaft lengths, etc.

They felt terrible, but also like you guys mentioned the fonts were off.

Luckily, the guy I purchased from (Facebook Marketplace) fully refunded me as he was unaware of the situation as well. Good learning experience.

props to guy who refunded $$ back to you!
  7. Hi Justin - I'm in the same boat. Was the Titleist rep that helped you a local find, or someone from Team Titleist? The person I bought my set from offered to refund the money but is looking for definitive proof they're fake so he can go back to the shop he bought from.

Thanks for any help you're able to provide!
