Hi, does anyone have any early info on the U505 utility irons, what lofts they are going to be available in and where they sit in terms of forgiveness with the U500 and U510 - What the stock shafts are going to be also, graphite and steel again?

The waiting is the hardest part. I too can't wait for these to be released.

I have my eye on the U505 as well. I have hit both the U500 and 510, liked the 500 a little better. I have read some reviews on the U505 and sounds like it is in between the profile of the 500 and 510. I think that makes sense since you can see the back of the club at address with the 505 (from pictures I have seen), but you cannot on the 500. And it looks like a smaller profile than the 510.

A couple of the golf equipment review sites have indicated the 505 will be the "better player" version of the utility iron. So maybe there will be a 515 as well?

I have not heard anything on shaft options but would expect similar to the 500/510. The Hazardous Smoke shafts worked really well with the 500/510.

I can't answer most of your question but can say that I found out they will be offered in a 1, 2, 3, and 4 iron version. Yes, you can now carry a 1-iron in the bag.

I was able to hit them last week. The U505 replaces the 510. The T200 long irons will replace the U500.
    I don’t remember where the T200 will start but I saw 2&3.
The U505 were super easy to launch

Hit the 505 on Monday. Launches great and comes off the face fast. Nice high launch which is what I am looking for. Certainly picked up a few yards as well on the 505. The sole looks to be wider than my current U510 but it gets through the ground clean. Was hesitant at first and I did not like the looks but when I put it behind a ball and let it go..... SOLD. I am getting the 4 to replace my 510 4. My 510 4 was 1 degree weak to get some height, the 505 will be standard.
  7. are the U505 Utilities replacing the 500/510? I thought the "slotted it" in between the other models??

Also, are the utilities designed to be hit off the fairways and from the rough or just off the tee?

Single offering replacement now has features that fall between the older 500 and 510 thus the 505 name. Many pros and better players that prefer a more traditional shape are moving to the T200 and you will see Titleist listing it as both a full set and the long irons as a utility option. As for where to hit them, you will see them played from tees, fairways, and light rough. Wherever a player feels comfortable with the shot they have in front of them.

I like what Titleist did with the U505 and T200 utility irons. The change makes combo sets even more seamless. If I can get my swing to be more consistent, I can see myself going to the T100s for 7 through GW, and T200 for 3 through 6. Would probably do the graphite shaft in the 3 iron, especially if I stay with the AMT Black shaft in the rest of the irons. I currently play the T200 with AMT Black shafts.

Also like how they cleaned up the look of the T series irons. Saw them in person for the first time yesterday.

I'm right there with you. This release is fantastic for the combo set player.

The specs are out!! Thanks for the replies everyone! I had been fancying swapping my t200 4iron for U510 to hopefully sit better in-between the gap of my TSi2 3 hybrid and my 5 iron but the stock lie angles were a little flat and the lead time for a custom club would have missed most the summer. I’m excited seeing the new U505 are more upright as standard so I’m hoping if I go and hit the 3 and 4 iron I might be able to leave with one off the shelf and drop
    It straight in the bag!
