  1. Hey guys, so I regripped my driver today . When taking off the old tape there were a few strands of graphite stuck to the old tape . There's a small piece that bends back a little bit. All this is at the very butt end of the shaft. I just taped over it and put the new grip on. Sorry for no pics as I just put the new grip on. My question is...will this cause the shaft to break? Is it a performance issue? Or is it something that happens alot due to the fact that part of the shaft is "unfinished" ? Thanks for your help .

Frayed not.... Okay, I couldn't resist. Seriously though, I would not be too concerned about some imperfections at the butt end of the shaft as long as it does not look like it is splitting or cracking in any way. Just be careful each time you regrip in the future and keep a watch on it. It should be fine. Good question though. Better safe than sorry. Going to have to find something else to blame for missed fairways. :)
  3. Thanks Dale! Yea I should have mentioned they were very thin like slivers not big. Like way less than half an inch long .

Could be from when they cut the shaft to length. If someone used a hack saw instead of the proper cutting wheel it will tear the fibers before sawing through and could lead to fraying.
