Sounds like a unique way you have of pulling the club. Granted, you shouldn’t have to apply a hack, but a small piece of silver duct tape on the max circle should reduce the wear and tear on your fingers

That is an absolutely ridiculous reply. No one should EVER have to apply TAPE to the greatest products ever produced. The #1 irons in golf! I had a similar thing happen with a 716 AP2 7 iron. The back piece of metal, which came to an arrowhead sharp point, flipped back and it was by the grace of God that I didn't completely rip open my palm picking up the club from my bag. I sent the 7 iron back to Titleist. They replaced the 7 iron. The exact same thing happened with the replacement 7 iron!!! It must've been the epoxy they used. I sent the entire set back to Titleist. They gave me a complete refund. I then made another appointment for a full fitting and a full physical evaluation at Titleist Performance Institute in Carlsbad. Cost $1200, plus travel expenses, hotel, car, food, etc.

Gave this issue some thought and checked how I pull my clubs. Seems I pull them out with my index and middle finger from the underside of the clubhead, therefore never touching the sides. Guess over a period of time, with the clubs clanging against each other, burrs could develop on the outside.

I have the same problem, looks like a piece of thin tin plate and feels very sharp. That’s what we get for paying over £1000. It shouldn’t matter how they are removed from the bag they shouldn’t be like it. (Looks cheap and nasty).
I think this issue should be Titleist’s responsibility but they won’t do anything now because the new version has just been released and the problem has been solved with a plastic back that will probably get scratched to pieces.

Hit the new T200’s today for first time, don’t think you would have that issue with those!! May want to trade up, butter!!

I must say that after being a loyal Titleist player for many years from DCI's, 804 OS, AP1's, and three sets of AP2's and now T200's I find this issue rather worrying. These irons haven't been damaged through wear and tear, they were manufactured this way so it's Titleist's responsibility to respond in a more professional manner. Have Titleist started to use cheap materials to make performance of there irons better, but at the same time still charging over £1000. I'm very dissapointed in Titleist for not taking this more seriously espesially if someone has cut themselves on them, also bearing in mind these irons are still available for sale.
I'm sorry to have to say that my loyalty to Titleist has now come to an end.

Matthew has made a valid point and we always recommend when you have an issue, you need to contact the retailer where you purchased the clubs or contact customer service. This forum is for discussions by Titleist loyalists. It is the most effective method. In that you contacted Titleist, they inspected the club and made a determination I feel that this has been handled in a professional manner, even though we may not always agree. With respect.

I had a 716 AP2 7 iron with a defective back. A razor sharp piece of the metal bent back like an arrowhead tip and could've ripped my hand wide open. Thank God I saw it in time. The epoxy holding the metal piece didn't hold. I sent it back. Titleist sent me a new 7 iron. The exact same thing happened with the new 7 iron! I sent the entire set back to Titleist for a refund because the clubs have a year warranty. I got fitted for 716-TMBs and have been playing them ever since. But I agree with you. This is a design fault and Titleist should step up and replace the clubs. This is unacceptable.

Off the topic, if you do not mind. Has anyone been hitting the new T200’s as I was wondering if you have found the performance the same as or better than the 2019 T200’s. Other than esthetics, and perhaps a more muted sound, better dispersion, better distance or about the same? Significant investment for the same result but just curious at this point. Been playing the 2019’s for two years, really like them and with the aerotech steel fiber i95 shaft. Just looking for some feedback. Thanks.

I noticed this not long after I had the T200's. All I did was put a bit of lead tape over it. Stayed on, didn't change any swing weight & also didn't have to worry about it hitting my finger.
Just a suggestion.

So I played a few rounds with someone who thinks that his T200s are fake because the circle on the back of the club is plastic not metal. I didn't think to ask where or who did he buy the clubs from but everything about his clubs matches the specs of the T200s but he is sold on them being fake due to the circle being plastic but from what I gather here the plastic circle is on the 2021 T200s is that correct?

I have the older T200's (bought last year, 2020) and the tin cover on the back of the irons are definitely peeling back and have cut my finger several times. It is definitely is a design flaw. You don't buy clubs with the expectation that they represent a safety issue. I have raised the issue with the retailer. Did not get a huge amount of interest in the problem.

This could be a moment for Titleist to elevate the brand or damage the brand.

Yes Titleist did contact me, they wanted some pictures, sent the picture in and haven’t heard back from them. This has been my worst experience buying golf clubs. First the heads flew of, got them glued, then I caved in the face on a couple of sets, now got very sharp edges on the back of the club.

I was told that Titleist might replace the heads and that I would receive VIP treatment.

Hi Richard, who are you dealing with, a guy called Allen Blocker contacted me but I’m unable to reach him, I called titleist canada but no one there by that name.

Hopefully i don't enoucnter this problem with my T200s but i keep iron covers on them. So the only time i could see this happening to me is when I'm cleaning the grooves but even then, I'm usualy holding the shaft and not the clubhead.
